Okay since a couple people here have enjoyed some of my other lyrics I figured I'd put these in here too. As you can see from the title these will be PoNR.
Before I write it, I think I should tell you a couple things though...
1)As I was writing it, I was listening to the original song and I got to thinking not just about the EC relationship, but also of the one between Don Juan and Aminta. The original song, PoNR is and let's face it, about seduction and sex. But after that, then what? My reason for writing this was because I believe that after they passed "the point of no return", they ended up falling in love. In this song, "At The Place of Love's Embrace" they realize that physical love isn't just enough and they want to be together forever. Aminta will commit the ultimate taboo and bind herself to Don Juan and Don Juan will give up being the player and love Aminta only. Think of it as a 'morning after' love song.
2)The only flaw I have in it, (oops! #-o ), was that in the original song at the beginning each of Erik and Christine's parts, they have the line, "Now you are here with me/I am here with you, no second thoughts". I just couldn't find a way to put my own words to that, so that part of the music is left out. Just put the lyrics to the music of PONR!

K? Allrighty then....

Don Juan: We arrived here, at the point where there's no return
To the point where two hearts beat as one in the darkness,
darkness...
Somehow I feel that in spite of the conquest of night, that in
spite of the triumph I've won I am standing, standing...

At the place of love's embrace, that hidden mys'try
the place that I thought I could never know
At the choice of yes or no, it comes to this now;
Is love my fate, a gift I must bestow?

It first began as just an act, she was a doe to be entrapped,
A willing actress in my theater
Now, I hear a cry in me, not just for passion
I yearn for something all together more:
Your heart to own and to adore.

Aminta: Your eyes called me, in their depths they revealed a flame
In their depths they ignited a flame that was passion, passion...
I've surrendered, fully knowing what's in your heart, fully knowing
beacause of this game I am standing, standing...

At the place of love's embrace, illusions shattered
I fear the truth for what it may entail
There's no need for masquerade, no need for pretense,
All masks of lust and passion have now failed.

Succumbing to this love may be, the end of virtue and of grace,
Condemning me form hope of rescue,

Together: But, whatever fate may bring, this much is certain:
We've come to far to cease as if at play...
So here with you I'll always stay.

Please read and review!

Aaaaaaaaaahhh! ::glomps:: Those lyrics are beautiful! They're so powerful, carry the same emotion the original lyrics did while painting a more vivid picture. I adore reading your lyrics... Again, though, I found it to be not quite as fluid in the beginning, but that's a personal opinion.

Do more? Please?

::gives puppydog eyes:: For me??? ^_^ muchlove, MissDay.

MissDay...I must truly say you have a wonderful talent ::bows and applauds:: Magnifico! I love to be able to imagine Christine and Erik saying these words. It seems to bring them even closer together. I also love how you incorporated Masquerade and the masks into the lyrics...I agree with DEE, you truly paint a more vivid picture! Bravo! I do hope that you continue writing lyrics!

I really enjoyed this, it has the same kind of emotion as the song in the show. But, I wonder if Don Juan would have stayed faithfuleven if he did fall in love and make promises. Could he have actually changed his ways that much, he may have for a while, but if he had fallen back into his old ways what would have happened then. Thats a thought that could be worked on I think.

good point doristelford: Don juan is definentely a shady, shaky kind of guy-this song was just an experiment and something i love to do for fun-thank you for comments- i really appreciate them, they're what amke me want to write more!

Thank you. And yes, I have written poetry about other things than Phantom (I'm not completely obsessed with it...yet), but those are the poems that I write when I'm in a down mood, in other words, VERY depressed and I keep most of those to myself. But if I ever write more that I feel comfortab;e with sharing you can sure I'll post it, K?
