I haven't seen it, but I have heard several songs from there, and one that sticks out in my mind is "IF you were Gay" it's kinda funny...I would give almost anything to see the show!! This sounds like it is to be a really good show!!! I REALLY WANNA SEE IT!!

I ahven't seen it either, but I have the soundtrack. :) Twisted as said soundtrack may be, it is still an excellent soundtrack. :D Some of the songs are actually quite relevant to real life. The most obvious is "Everyone's A Little Bit Racist." It's right; everyone IS a little bit racist, but most people don't realize it or admit to it. In any case, yeah... Hm. The funniest song, in my opinion, would have to be "The Internet is for Porn" (I hope posting the title of that song isn't against the rules; very sorry if it is :o). I mean, how can you listen to taht song without laughing? :D

I am absolutely addicted to this soundtrack! I haven't gotten to see the show either, though. My favorite songs on the soundtrack are "If You Were Gay," "The Internet is for Porn," "Everyone's A Little Bit Racist," and "Schadenfreude." This musical is so hilarious, I can't wait until I get a chance to see it live. (Though if I have to choose between Q and Phantom, which I hope I will never have to, I'll probably pick POTO.)

I do admit, I thought the songs were a little strange when I first heard them but then strange turned to absolutely hilarious! I would love to see this play but I haven't. My favorite songs though would have to be: Everyone's a little bit racist, Internet is for porn,What do with an English bachlorettes degree or something, My life sucks (r something like that.. i forgot what it is). Ah... funny funny!!!

The names are What Do You Do With A B.A. In English? and It Sucks to be Me. :D I love these songs!

Haha, okay, so would anyone believe me if I told you Avenue Q helped me get a 100 on an essay in my English class? :D Well, it did. I just found a paper from February on the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, and at the end of it, I put lyrics from "Everyone's A Little Bit Racist." I got a 100 on the essay. ^_^

Wow! Congrats, and I'm glad musicals are useful in school. I didn't have nearly as much luck as you did, I'm afraid. In my graphics class, the teacher was getting angry about all the kids who were playing games online when they were supposed to be doing their work. He gave us a half-hour lecture (I must have dozed off through most of it), and then wrapped it up with "Now, what is the internet for?" I swear, it's a good thing he wasn't looking in my direction. I was struggling extremely hard not to laugh, because I immediately thought of that song! (You know which one...) :D

Oh, I would absolutly love to see this show. I wish it was already in Las Vegas because I would have watched it, but then again, I don't know how my mom would react to me seeing some of those things...lol..but it'd be so funny!

I have the cd, most of the songs are so funny, like "You Can Be As Loud As You Want" wow, and of course the ever popular "The Internet is for Porn" Man, I would love to see this, not fair!! I wonder when it'll come to Arizona.

I am in love with "It Sucks To Be Me", my best friend and I relate EXACTLY to the part Kate Monster sings. It's nuts. I love "The Internet Is For Porn" it makes me laugh so hard.

My school's possibly going to New York this year. I'm the resident musical geek, so I hope I get to suggest a ton of musicals to go see....my top 3 would be Wicked, Avenue Q and POTO. :D

It's fun to revive old threads. I finally saw this show two weeks ago. I LOVED IT! IT WAS AMAZING! The songs are extremely funny (as per the soundtrack) but the scenes between the songs are also funny! The use of TV screens adds to the madness that we call Avenue Q. If you ever get the chance to see this show...GO SEE IT! It's well worth the money spent for the ticket, and then some!

One of my friends has the soundtrack. When my date bailed on me at homecoming (I've forgiven him, but if crazyvocalist09 sees this, she'll kill me for talking about her bf...), Clint came over and he let me hear it while we played on the computer. The only songs I've heard are "If You Were Gay", "Everyone's A Little Bit Racist", and "It Sucks To Be Me". I would love to see this.

Apparently, the National Tour will be starting soon . . . It'll start in San Diego, move on to San Fran, and then embark on an 18-month tour around the country. Hopefully, some of you will get to see it! ^_^

And this following bit of news made me burst out laughing:

COMING SOON FROM MTI:
AVENUE Q and AVENUE Q School Edition
Sign up for Fast-Track notification for AVENUE Q or AVENUE Q School Edition and you'll be first to know when these new titles are available for licensing.

Dear Friend of MTI:

We’re delighted to announce that MTI has acquired the rights to represent the exciting and edgy hit musical AVENUE Q! While it is not available for general release at this time, we wanted you to know that in conjunction with the authors, the plan is to release two versions of the show: AVENUE Q School Edition (suitable for High Schools to perform, with any material that might be deemed “questionable” for a general audience altered or removed) and the full version of AVENUE Q, with variations for sections/songs/lyrics that will allow a production to retain as much of the original as possible, but be flexible to allow theatres to amend it within author-approved guidelines for various community standards.

We have set up two special FAST TRACK notification pages for these versions of AVENUE Q. We also have included a text field where you can make any comments or give us your thoughts about how you think AVENUE Q will work in your theatre. We look forward to hearing from you!

Your friends at MTI!

So . . . if the school edition is cutting all objectionable content, what will be left? XD

I loved it. I was singing "If You Were Gay" all throughout history class, and everyone was looking at me strangely...oh well.

Ha, this musical is so funny! Perverted, but funny. I seriously quote it all the time when I'm in one of my moods. It's hard to create just one piece of music that's comical, but a whle musical? Major kudos to the composer/lyricist.

I love how it was done with puppets. I love puppets (mostly) and musical theatre and New York. Add all of this together, add some pervertedness and viola! You get Avenue Q. I love it even though I have heard very little of it... What I have heard has made me laugh so it's okay.

(Okay, I know this sounds kinda out there and wierd. Forgive that. I shall fix it in the morning. I'm a little tired)

See, I used to absolutely hate this musical and I really had no reason for disliking it other than it beat Wicked for best musical back in 2003, something I didn't agree on and well, I still don't agree on it even now. But still, that was a ridiculous reason not to give something a chance. And so one day, I downloaded a few songs and actually started listening to them and I just fell in love with it all.

The music is great, the OBC couldn't have been any more perfect and yeah, i'll admit it is very intriguing how they put on a Broadway show with puppets. It goes through different emotions throughout the musical. I mean, yeah, its pretty damn funny but there are also serious parts, sad parts, melancholy parts...and that's part of what makes a good Broadway show, the emotion is always important. That's what people relate to. Plus, Avenue Q helped me embarrass my roommate. :) So I owe it big time.

The only reason I know about this is from hearing "The Internet Is For Porn" on the Sirius Broadway station. That song is hilarious!

So I have discovered something brilliant about myself and this show:

I can do the voices of the following characters:

Kate Monster
Trekkie Monster
Rod
Nicki
The original Gary Coleman (the character, not the person, obviously)
and Christmas Eve.

I find this rather hilarious since I don't sound like myself at all. It just fills me with great joy to sing some duets by myself. I love it.

And this show... new obsession. Love it, actually. So innovative, so catchy, so cute and raunchy and full of wonderful.

It was in my town last year. My mom wanted to go see it, but I wasn't sure if she'd like it (she loves it. oops). But some family friends went and they said that people got up and walked out. *sigh* hopefully it comes back and we'll go see it then.

I saw it live about three or four years ago and it was hilarious! Actually, my brother makes the best Rod impression and I do have fond memories of dragging him to portfolio day and when we were in line for five hours, the only thing we could do to keep our sanity was sing songs from Ave. Q.
