Just got my copy from Borders, and all I have to say is... LAAAAHVE IT! It's gorgeous...the pictures, the interviews, the behind-the-scenes look at everything... ::Sighs dreamily while paging through beloved book::

Was anyone else fortunate enough to find a copy? ::Huggles book::

I've been thinking about getting it, but I have this strange disease called extreme cheapness. :T

How long is it?

Why, I'll go check right now, Sadako! ::Casually reaches over and flips through pages:: 'Tis 144 pages, Mademoiselle. 144 pages of pure bliss... :)

I ordered mine off amazon.com. It helped me with the lyrics for Masquerade (I always got messed up on them) and it explains a lot of things. It is a very helpful book, and I'm glad I bought it. It is worth every cent!

I love the information at the very beginning...very interesting. The first time I read it, I got to the very beginning of the screenplay where it's describing the Overture (with the chandelier and everything), and then I just set the book down and said, "I MUST watch this movie again! Right now!"

So I did...for the thirty-third time. :D

The pictures are gorgeous, too...makes me wish I had a scanner or something, so I could have all those wonderful screencaps for myself on the computer. Some of them would make very nice signatures...

...I have to add some of my favorite lines out of the Companion Guide on here:

(During MOTN)
-Christine is mesmerized and hypnotized by this stunning, sexual master. ::Giggle giggle snort:: Sexual master...
-The Phantom walks toward Christine. This is highly sexual. I think the authors of this book at a thing for the word sexual.

(During AIAOY...now tell me if this is not complete E/C-ness...)
-Raoul (irritated): Christine...Christine...

Erik (unseen, a ghostly echo of love): Christine...

Raoul (almost interrupting): ::Sings his lines::

(During DOM)
-The kiss is long and deep. A lover's kiss.

how much was it?

I think that the writer was obviously an E/C supporter, going by that. XD

The one (ONE!) thing I don't like about the C.G is how it describes PONR. I mean, after reading the screenplay for MOTN, I was all expecting some in-depth details and such, being that PONR is a much sexier scene than MOTN. But... The most it says in there is:

The Phantom is holding and caressing Christine.

...Yes, well, thank you very much, Mr. Author of C.G. I think we already knew that. Couldn't you have added a little bit more, I don't know, description? ::Le sigh::

Oh well. The rest is brilliant.

I've read the companion but I don't own it - I've read it whilst at M.Andrei's house (where I spend most of my time :D). It's good! I don't like the way the author describes some of the actions though. And KT, you're right, the author does seem to like the word "sexual" a lot...

I really want to get this book, and I will, when I get some money...I'm owed pocket money from my dad and wages from work

*runs to check bank account*

Neither have paid me and the money in there is to pay for my POTO Movie Soundtrack when Amazon gets off it's butt and dispatches it.

I should get money soon, but I will get it. If I want something, somehow I tend to get it.

I have had no luck whatsoever in finding a store or library that carries this book. :( If I had money to burn, I'd consider buying it from Amazon.com.

I got it for my birthday! Wonderful pictures! But they mislabled one of the costume sketches for the play. They say it's the wedding dress, but it's actally the nightgown from Angel of Music/PotO/MotN. You can see the Hannibal costume underneath.

I went to the Border's bookstore in the mall near my house yesterday, and they finally had it! Well, they're only a year late. :D I looked through it, and found it absolutely awesome. If only I had remembered to bring my wallet... :(

Aww, that's sad. I wish I could get it. I have no money!!! Maybe as a Christmas present..... Eureka! A Christmas present!!! Brilliant! But that is such a long wait. Nobody ever said how much it cost. That would be helpful.

I'm getting ready to buy it right now. I love Internet shopping. *Sigh*

On Borders it was $20, and on Amazon I think it was $16.50.

I'm not patient enough to shop around. :D I just have to order it now. I can't wait to see the pretty pictures!

And at Barnes and Noble, at the store, it was $25.

This book is absolutely gorgeous! I got it back in May, for my 16th birthday, and it's so cool! I'm in total agreement with the pictures. I especially liked seeing the behind-the-scenes pics.

The screenplay pretty much matched the end result, except for one particular detail that really stood out at me. Please tell me if you've noticed the following:

At the end of the MOTN scene, it says that the curtain obscures BOTH the Phantom AND Christine, "and we...fade to black." But in the movie, we can clearly see that the curtain SEPARATES the Phantom FROM Christine (sorry for all the caps).

This is a small detail, but it's really very great if you think about the implications... So I wonder, did the writers originally intend to imply something...er...different, or what? Any thoughts?

The companion is wonderful! The pictures are to die for! And they explain every detail that is necessary in the play and movie. It was defentally worth the money. And it defentally helps you out with the lyrics in some of the songs like Masquerade. Amazon is a great place to buy it if someone hasn't yet. Enjoy every last detail of this book it's amazing!

Yes the companion is wonderful. I love it. It rocks. I've watched it so many times, and I just love it. Its so much fun. I saw it on ebay and amazon, but either way. I think that amazon is cheeper though. But if you haven't gotten it yet then get it.
