I know you all have a wonderful affair that recently occurred in your changing life! One word: SPILL!!! Anything that you wanna say to the world!!! I've had a few people asking me before here and all over! I've been planning on going to a Magnet School! It's a place where you go to school, but you also enrich your skills such as singing, dancing, acting, drawing, writing, and such! I applied to be a musical major! and I made it! I'm to be going there for 9th grade! My parents are really proud! (Zelda, I might actually learn how to sing Opera appropriately! I can't wait for those lessons!!! hehe! I now have learned that I over exaggerate my words way too much!!!!!!!!! correction to be made!)

Well if it from making an A on your geometry test that you've been freaking out about, to being asking out by the guy of your dreams...or girl! (I forgot that guys existed!!! Don't ask how!) So SPILL people! SPILL!!!!!!!!

Congrats on those lessons, Erika! Make sure you update us on how those go!

Hmm, let's see . . . I recently was able to pull off Lakmé's "Ah! Ou va la jeune Indoue", also called the Bell Song. It was awesome, though I try not to sing it too much -- it's a surefire way to injure myself if I do.

Well I took first in a bunch of speech contests recently. I was beaten out by a bunch of seniors so I guess I'm pretty proud of myself. I got my permit so now I'm street legal. Hmmmm...I think that's it for now.

Well, I got through another week of school, did my first GCSE exam (German oral, predicted A*/A), made a card that I liked (pic here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v34/Cotume_Ristare/DSCF4101.jpg)), uploaded several hundred photos onto Facebook while still managing to keep up with work, and did well in a Latin further language vocab test (having revised 5 pages of vocab in one night). So Em is tiredly happy right now.

Well, despite the way certain things in my life are going, I am doing phenomenal when it comes to my progression in my college's wind ensemble, pep band, football band, and jazz ensemble. This August, I will be starting my second year and its going to be challenging but I am looking forward to it. Anyways, my first semester I sat fifth or sixth chair and played second part, sometimes third depending on what the piece called for or what the director wanted. In pep band I always played on second and in Jazz we all took turns anyways. I could have 1st part as well as 4th...it was just whatever way we decided to do it.

So as I said, I am a rising sophomore and I am starting the fall semester out as first chair, first trumpet part. And I will be 1st trumpet in pep band and football as well. I am very proud of that. It's a pretty big accomplishment to reach a goal like that so soon. There are people who are seniors that are behind me. We are actually doing a Fall concert that showcases all the instruments of the band with a piece for each. For example, there are solo pieces for each instrument that are accompanied by the rest of the band. There is one for trumpet and he already gave it to me to rehearse and start learning. So at our next concert I will be standing center stage,spotlight on me, while playing with a 115 member orchestra. That feels so wicked sweet. I can't actually wait for it to happen. :)

WOW! Congrats, RANdom!!!! That's so cool.

Well let's see, I'm going to be in a play, I made second band which is good for me because then it's not tooo challenging, but its not a class I can sleep through and it keeps me thinking. I made chior at my school and I might be gettign voice lessons from an operatic colortura.

Ummm I know one song on trumpet and (y'all are gonna love this) it's Prima Donna. You know, first lady of the stage? So I'm excited about that. I somehow managed to make a 3-D banner (which might not work) and is posted in my art thread.

That's about it...

I just graduated high school as of June 12, 2008! The ceremony was beautiful, but the best part was the end, when we all threw our caps. :p As of right now, I am officially a high school graduate! I just feel so proud of myself for making it this far with my schooling. I will be attending my local community college starting August 23, 2008 - and will be taking four classes...around eight or nine units. Part-time, for right now, but soon I will be going full-time. :D

Well, I'm offically a SENIOR! W00T! I know that's not as exciting as graduating (btw, congrats Sarah!), but I can't believe I've only got one year of high school left!!! And, I've got a pretty ring!!! I have to say, I'm a bit of a traditionalist, so when I saw all the girls with "senior rings" and they don't even have their school or grad. year on the ring I was a bit flabbergasted... What's the deal with that... I don't have the school name, but I at least got the initials, the mascot (Geaux Tigers!), the year (c/o 2009), and a purple stone (school colors are Purple & Gold) while everyone else got their birthstone. The only "personal" items on my ring were my name and a stage for theatre.

Wow... that went from accomplishments to advertising... *distracted easily*

One other thing I am proud of... A lot of you know about the guy I dated last year... Josh. And we broke up on our one-year, which is two days after my birthday.... so we've been broke up about nine months. Well, I finally met a guy I'm interested in and actually have a shot with! So I guess I'm just proud I've been able to move on. And this new guy, John, seems really nice. I know that if nothing happens, I'll be fine with that, and I know I'm not desperate, but if nothing else, I know that I can move on from a relationship (which is more than can be said for my ex, but that's another twisted story...)

So what can I say, I'm just happy to be alive... that's a good enough accomplishment for me!

I've just graduated high school with an A+ in oral English, must say I feel pretty damn proud of myself.

Got the ugly version of a Danish graduation hat on, and as stupid as the hat looks, I looks bloody beautiful now that it's on my head.

From now on it's just graduation parties and boozing myself up!

I returned to TPO! I'm RPing again!

This is thanks to two things:
1) My health has improved at long last. Knock on wood!!! Lungs are congested, and my heart can't seem to find a rhythm to stick with, but I'm functional. My brain is fibrofog-bound much of the time, but I'm determined to do better.
2) I have a new laptop~brand new~an HP with Windows Vista (whatever that is). My old Dell, which had a grafted-on screen, had been disintegrating for many months. Waaaaaay back when I was unable to get here, mainly it was due to the Dell misbehaving. If I could have gotten here, perhaps I wouldn't have been so sad.

I'M BAAAAAAACK!

I survived a week of work experiance... would've been a much more impressive achievement if said work experiance hadn't taken place in tech theatre.. oh well! I did have an evil insufferable whiny director though, so surviving a week without answering back is CERTAINLY an achievment hah :D

I have gotten to line four of a pretty complicated flute piece I'm working on. It's two pages long, so line four seems pretty insignifigant, but I'm really actually very proud of myself.

Also I mangaed to wake up this morning which I think was amazing of me seeing as I was exhausted last night. Ahhh.... The morning. I love that feeling, so refreshed. Its great.

Anyways, I'd also say It's a fairly good achievment to finally reach page 32 in the novel I'm writing! twenty more pages or so and I'll be ready for chapter three!

Bahaha ah well. Highschool can be either really good or really bad, depending on how you rationalize and get through things.

And my most recent accomplishment that I'm having a REALLY hard time with is quitting smoking. I haven't smoked in two weeks tomorrow, so that's a big deal for me... but oooooh man I'm really jonesing for a cancer-stick right now...

I just wanted to let you guys know that tonight I had my debut performance in this concert series my local theater is doing as a tribute to Cole Porter.
I had to sing a duet (soprano/baritone). My partner, Joey (a local performer) was tremendous and very supportive. He had done musical theater before and I hadn't.
So we duetted with So In Love...we were in costume: he in tights and tunic (think Romeo) and me in an empire-waist gown with my hair long (think Juliet). The song is from Kiss Me Kate, based on Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew.
Anyway, all went well, we were both in good voice and I could tell Gabe, our conductor was very pleased. Until a moment in the song where Joey had to make me spin gracefully ( like a dance) into his arms. The idea was for him to end up holding me from behind as we sang the final verse: "I'm yours til I die...So in love, so in love, so in love with you, my love, am I..."
But he did it just a bit too forcefully and my momentum was such that instead of moving gracefully up against him, I kind of slammed into him, knocking him to the floor! Of course since I was leaning on him I followed.
But I tell you we never missed a note!! We kept right on singing, sitting there in the middle of the stage me on Joey's lap, Joey's arms around me holding me! The audience was in tears laughing and clapping. They ate it up...especially since we were keeping the show going! We didn't get up until the end of the song and then only to take our bows. It was a riot!
I am so glad the night is over but we have one more performance tomorrow night so please wish me (and my sore backside) luck! Whew!

Awesome, Hannah! That's the way to do it, keep on going. :D Break a leg tonight!

I'm ecstatic! *sigh* I've just recently learned my first operetta aria! Mabel's "Poor Wand'ring One". It's also my first waltz... and I do the D! *is happy*

And now I'm doing Wishing! And then probably ToM according to my teacher. I'm so excited. :D

That's great news, Erin! I'm so envious!

I too am begining my first real aria (no baby stuff) Voi Che Sapete from Mozart's "The Marriage of Figero." It's so difficult but the melody is sweeping and very fun. The Italian is a ***** (pardon my French), though. This is only my thrid or fourth Italian aria and it's so hard to keep up with. Trust me, just give a listen, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-e0fHUoKD8

Lets see, upon starting my second year in college, things are going so much better this year. I got lead trumpet in the pit orchestra for the fall musical. We are doing Pippin and although I haven't received any of the music yet or even listened to Pippin, I am still pretty excited nevertheless. It's a freaking musical! Its the start of my career, lol.

Also, I was picked to play in The Cape Fear Wind Symphony, a really big accomplishment. Sometimes they make people audition and then sometimes, you get asked to play. Last year, I wasn't asked and I didn't audition in time but this year, I was specifically asked to play in it. There will be a few students and the rest of the players in the symphony are professionals. Oh, and I have first part. Its some of the most difficult music I've ever seen or had to play but I am so thrilled about it.

I also got a part time job playing with a high school band every Friday night at their football games. I get paid $75 dollars a game, gas money and food is also thrown into the mix so, that being said, it's a really good deal and opportunity that I took eagerly.

And I think that's it for the moment. Hopefully they'll be more good things in the future. :)

Congrats to all the great and wonderful things that each person on here has done I've only read a few but everyone of you should be proud.

My life if kind of dale but the two main accomplishments I have to shear are that I'm getting two of my peoms published. One's the first one I ever sent to this place its becoming one of the "greatest of the greatest" or so they call it and they want me to write a new one and send them.

My biggest thing lately is that my latest book on the Faust legend has finally been published, 2 volumes, (five and a half years work. Whew!) I am glad this one is finished! I am finally on my long deserved vacation with my brother, whom I haven't seen in a long time. So much to do!

My biggest accomplishment lately is that I raised my math grade in college from a D to a solid C. I passed the most recent test with a 43, which translates to 75%, or a solid C. My next goal is to get 85% of the questions correct (that would translate to a B). Moreover, my goal overall is to pass the class with at least a B, if not an A. However, I'm choosing not to count my chickens before they're hatched in case something happens. Our next test is October 15, so please send good thoughts my way.

Since I'm not used to a B on my report card I finally brought that back to a very low A but I'm happy with that, because I pass the test (world history with Stoneking isn't sooooo easy LOL) with a 96% yea!!! XDDD. I have suceeded in falling up the stairs 14 times in the past one and a half weeks!! YUSS!

I've fallen off the stage before (well, Q-build stageing) and not only did I manage that, but I also managed to land on the tuning tap of a timpani. It hurt. A lot.

How do you manage to fall up the stairs so often, Emmy?? I don't often wear heels to school because they hurt, but last week I did for one day and I was fine; the day after I wore flats, and I fell up the stairs twice and almost down once, in a day.. how does that even make sense?

Accomplishements: Surviving first 8 weeks of Y12 despite being ill and cranky for most of the time. Performed solo in a concert last week, playing Martinu's "Sonatine" (one of my gd8 exam pieces) and it went really well. And generally succeeding in becoming a better goalkeeper every week :)

I'm happy right now! (though still terrified about gd8 trumpet exam in 2 weeks time.. help)

OOooo I was going up the stairs today at school (weekend Crew Call) and so WT pushed me forard and I almost fell, but he pulled my shirt so I wouldn't fall down yea again for WT! Seriously as much as he gets on my nerves and as much as he treats me like crap at school he's totally fun to talk to on the internet! XD LOL....um so um the accomplishment in that is the fact that I didn't fall off the stairs (but I fell going up them), and the fact that WT doesn't over do the "i-'don't'-like-you" routine so much that he is nice enough to help me not fall down or up the stairs...well he tried to help me up the stairs but...well ummmm hehe noticed i said try...and so haha! Awhile back, we took in a kitten that had been stolen from some other cat's litter by a cat who stays on our front porch most of the time. We left it in the garden, hoping the mother cat would reclaim it. Later in the night, we checked but she was still there. In the morning, my mom found her on the driveway; whether she crawled there or was carried, we aren't certain. We had heard that newborn kittens are nearly impossible to raise, and she was no more than a couple of weeks old. Still, we couldn't bear to leave her to die outdoors.

All we had in the house that was serviceable as baby kitty food was a can of Carnation condensed/evaporated milk. This tiny creature had to try to drink out of a lid because we couldn't create anything like a bottle or nipple to suit her size. At Wal-Mart, we found Hartz formula and a baby bottle. I started staying up 16+ hours a day, usually more, so that I could prepare formula, bathe the kitten to stimulate her "innards", and keep her warm. I was quite a sight, with clothespins holding up part of my caftan/gown to make a pouch for her to sleep in. Several times, about 2 a.m., I thought she was gone, but she'd perk up by dawn. After about four containers of powdered formula, we began weaning her, first off the bottle then from formula all together. She still refused to eat anything solid till I bought her packets of minced fish. She LOVES it! Only, we're down to one packet, and I knew that she had to make the jump to regular catfood~the crunchy stuff~even if it was softened.

I did it! She ate crunchy kitty chow! I opened a can of tuna, pouring off the water onto some food, then sprinkled bits of the tuna and mixed it together.

Now, that might not seem like a major accomplishment to you, but I have a plump, adorable, grey-and-white kitten sitting on the pillow at my side, giving herself a bath after chowing down with the other kittens! Hooray! I think she's going to make it to a month old though it was tricky going, during which I lost a great deal of sleep and my blood sugar veered upward far too many times. I'll just tell my doctor, "Sassy Babylove is alive, plump, playing, ornery, feisty and happy!" (She purrs~a teensy little sound!)

That is really something! I hope you and your new friend have many long years together. :spin2:

My first accomplishment is that I'm going back to college after several months on hiatus. I took a hiatus at the end of March when things were too overwhelming for me, and now I'm ready to try again. I know my limits where classes and units are concerned, so I feel truly confident that I'll get my AA.

My second accomplishment is that, yesterday, I had an interview for an apartment! It's Section 8 Housing - which is for people with mental or physical disabilities - so that means my rent would be one-third of my total income. Imagine this...if my income was $965 a month, well, divide that by one-third and that number would be my rent. Just think, six months to a year from now, I might be living on my own!

Lets see, not sure if this is really an accomplishment, but I got two more Maroon5 CDs... This means that I'm only two or three CDs shy of having all of them! I need B-Sides Collection, Live Friday the 13th, and I think there may be two more live albums, but I'm not sure. So here's to being a Maroon 5 addict!

I tried it out last night, it worked, and I did a little happy dance and cheered going, "it works! It works," over and over.
So, today is the first day I'm posting from my own computer and not someone else's.
AWESOME!

My biggest accomplishment lately is that I got my first math exam back today. I got 105 out of 112 possible points, or 94.7%, which translates to an A! I'm really proud of myself because I used to get C's and D's on exams in previous classes.

Aww that's great Sarah. I've been able to keep sane through this first year of 10th grade. I mean I'm sane, but that doesn't meant anything about my grades. I mean I already have a 96 A? What????? That's crazy! I got a 91% on my first quiz...but it's grades and scaled as a test....Mr. P what's up with that????

Well...*looks at the very blank wall of things that Sarah is really proud of* Just last weekend I was on a canoe trip with this group i'm part of. That night at the fire pit I actually went up and sang a song. In front of a whole lotta people. Generally I don't do stuff like that ,I'm just too shy, but I gave it a whirl and sang "Caledonia". Next morning One of the dads thanked me for his lullaby then his daughter confessed to me that she didn't quite know who was singing (both dad and daughter were in their tent by that point) but she said that I sounded like an angel. :blobflower: I have never been complemented like that before in my life!!!! So yeah, I sang a solo acapella in front of a whole lotta people.

My big accomplishment lately is that I've begun working on the second stepping-stone to Think of Me. It's a song from a musical called The Boys From Syracuse, and the song itself is called Falling In Love With Love. I'm really proud of myself for making it this far with my goal.

I've managed to get sick and now it's mild but I still can't go to school...more to to work and catch up!!

Also, I've gained my voice back, because this weekend I could not talk or sing at all!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I have managed to almost be caught up with all of my work (stupid Applied voice Article Evaluations!) and I have caught up with my RPs (soon to be in debt of a few) and I have gotten a 87% on my Chemistry Exam! WHOOT! And I didn't get a review day like everyone did...take that Mr. M! Whoot!
I have close to a solid B in my math class right now, and I'm really proud of that because I didn't pass this class the first time. Now, though, it looks like I'm going to pass it with the required grade and be able to go on to the next math class.
I don't know if you can call this an accomplishment, but, I got a new computer! I'll have to wait until I'm back in my dorm tonight to see how the Internet on it works, though. So hopefully tomorrow I will be posting on that.
(I kinda had to get it, because my old one's hard drive crashed and since it was so old, they couldn't get parts for it anymore.)
Okay so get this. I got past an audition for a revue kind of variety show at my school and my friend and I are going to sing Dark Waltz, but since she's an Alto she's singing an octave lower at the high part...I LOVE THE SONG and we both decided that we would dedicate this to Josh Groban. Her reason is to annoy her boyfriend and mine is...well because I wanted to play along and just because I wanted to be silly ;)
And I actually got in the ensemble for Little Women! Yes!
I guess all the hard work I've done this year has paid off - in more ways than one! First of all, I made it through the entire semester without dropping either of the classes I was taking. Also, as of today, I'm now working on Think of Me with my voice teacher! :spin2:
I just found out that I don't have to buy sheet music anymore. Once I get to learn a song I can start playing it after a few runs and a few written down chords and notes...yes! I'm getting there to the point of hearing out music...this is a mile stone in my life!
My big accomplishment may not seem all that big, but it sure does feel that way! I found a picture I'd been searching for in 25 minutes or less this morning, and was able to scan it into the computer with my dad's help this afternoon! The scanning itself was a royal pain in the butt, so that is quite an accomplishment.
I have LOTS to spill.
1. Yall know about all region band right?? Well, I participated just last weekend, and it was my first time. Some of these kids have been in band for three years and all region twice. This was my first time and I only had the choir region experience to live off of. I was all excited when I played and...... I GOT FIRST CHAIR FIRST BAND TUBA PLAYER!!!!!! (and fifty bucks from our band director thanks to a handsome bet)
2. I recently placed first with my partner in the FCCLA (Family, Career, and, Community Leaders of America) STAR events in the focus on children category. Our project was on obesity, and we did a skit where I was the villan and got to wear my phantom mask in front of two third grade classes. Anyway, I was just excited because I get to go on to state competetions, and we are the first kids in our school to get to do that!!
3. In the district FBLA (Future Buisiness Leaders of America) meeting, I competed in the trivia challenge and got 5th place out of fourty kids.
4. My BF Taco, and I celebrated our eight month of going out on the...16 I think. Wow, that's awful, I bragg and then I forget the date.. that's embarassing. o___O
I've been selected by the senior highers in band to be in a....I dunno, a special ensamble thing that goes out around central Iowa and plays music to like let everyone know who we are. I'm like, a band representative now. I feel really special about this, and just thought I'd share it with you all. (: Haha.
And another thing, I didn't fail any semester tests, which I'm happy about. Boo-ya. (: Good job to everyone else for their accomplishments!
Well, I don't know if this could be considered an accomplishment, but I switched my major for this semester to undecided. In doing, so I dropped my Theatre Practicum class that was one of the causes of my mild depression I had last semester. So I've been happier since I did that. Not completly happier, but I'm getting there.
I just recently completed 120 hours or so of my initial EMT-Basic training. I passed all seven modules, did my ambulance riding time, passed the final exam, and graduated on June 16th with all the skills and knowledge necessary to be an EMT-Basic. Monday morning I sat for the state certification exam; I believe I did well enough to pass, but it'll be a while before I find out my exact score, as well as when I'll be getting my certification card in the mail.
Oh Christine! I remember when you first started training, you were so excited and I couldn't be happier for you... and now you're done. It's amazing. You worked so hard to accomplish it, and you made it, and that really says a lot about the person I know you are. <3 You stuck with it, studied hard, and were really enthusiastic, even though I know it wasn't exactly a cake walk. Congratulations mi amore, you really deserved to pass and I know you're going to be superb as an EMT!
My biggest accomplishment lately is that I moved out. Most of my family and friends thought I'd be living with my parents forever, but that isn't the case. JYES!! Several amazing things have happened to me here recently and I am glad to be able to share with someone:
I am Audrey in our school's upcoming production of "Little Shop of Horrors"
I made first band with my horn in our region's All Region competetion
I qualified for ALL STATE with the same horn
I made it to the TOC (Tournament of Champions) for our state's forensics
I got my transcript corrected, and I have all A's
My mother is getting married in two weeks
I dumped my stupid horndog boyfriend, despite all his threats of 'hitting me' if I ever left him.
So yeah WOOTWOOT! Go me! Life is pretty awesome as of right now. Lets hope it stays that way for at least a little bit por favor.
