Greetings once again. I've been wondering, what humorous or potentially embarassing POTO-related things have you done in daily life? It can be anything, from quoting a line from POTO or bursting into song at a random time, to dressing up as a POTO character when it's not Halloween. :D
Let's see... I have a friend at school who's as much of a Phan as I am. He and I always sing "Notes" whenever we meet, no matter who else is around. He sings Firmin's part and I sing André's. Sometimes, if we're around other Phans, some of them will join in as Raoul, Carlotta, Giry, and Meg. It is downright hilarious when that happens!
I always like quoting POTO in class. I usually save it for band (since that was where I first became a Phan) and physics (since the teacher is a Phan and doesn't seem to mind random outburts). For example, in physics, we had to make a matchstick bridge. After we were done, I decided to burn mine and loudly sang, "The bridge is crossed, so stand and watch it burn!" :p I also like saying "Far too many notes for my taste!" whenever we have to take a lot of notes in class. It also comes in handy in band. :D

hmmm... I've done lots of silly POTO-related things in life.
Just recently, a friend and I were in this really tacky/retarded theme park ride which was located in the local island resort. We were in this room and my friend spotted a mirror and told me about it. I walked up to the mirror and started singing "Angel of Music, Guide and Guardian". Bet some people were staring at me. I also had the crazy urge to screm "Whatever you do, keep your hand at the level of your eyes" while we were in this fake "lift" that was supposed to take us into the "centre of the earth". And also, while we were at the abovementioned island resort, we were walking along this nature trail and I was singing just about every POTO song and my friend was staring at me.
There was another time, another friend and I were at a karaoke place and we randomly shouted "Sing my angel of music!" into the microphones. I wonder who heard us and guessed we were mad. Repeated that action recently who karaokeing with my family.

Well, let's see . . . I'm constantly singing POTO songs out of nowhere. Maman recently ran a red light when she was past what is called in driving terminology "the point of no return"; that's when you are already driving past and the light suddenly changes on you. So I sang "Past the point of no return . . ." Maman just smiled -- she's a phan like I am.
I don't dare do anything in front of my dad. He thinks I'm unhealthily obsessed with POTO, which is not true. Ah, well.

Oh, you shouldn't even get me started on this subject!!! I am always doing really funny things when it comes to POTO. I sing the songs constantly, especially at school. In drama, they'd be trying to quiet us down backstage and I would be singing, lol. Oh, and the best part was that I would even sing in English!!! I had a friend who had a duet of All I Ask of You in his choir performance, and so we'd both randomly break into song. Everyone would yell at us and tell us to stop singing, but we never listened, lol. Then, anytime someone says something that vaguely reminds me of a line, I quote the entire scene after it, then start laughing because I amuse myself, while my friends just stare at me. :)

I'm one of those people that usually breaks into song whenever I feel like it, or the time is right. The other day we didn't have anything to do in theater so I sat out in the lobby and started singing the soundtrack. Heh, I was fairly good but the director told me to quiet down. ;)

Well, about two weeks ago, i was watching PoTO at about 8;30 on a friday night. All of a sudden, i got this mad urge to dress up as Christine and sing a few of her songs. So, i went and curled my hair, put on make-up, dress etc. When i was finished it was around midnight, and my parents were asleep. I woke them up and made them take pictures og me singing! The i had to take off everything and go to bed! How nuts is that??

haha that's classic!! That's a real classic!! I think that's the best one yet. :D
My stories of obsessiveness are basically the same as everyone. Breaking out into song in public- having people stare at you. Going crazy when I heard about someone called Eric. (Wrong spelling though) And lots more little bits and pieces like that.

I made a POTO costume last Halloween. As in, cut black waterproof material to make a cape, buying a full-face white mask and cutting it (they were out of half-masks), and even creating a "disfigurement" of sorts out of latex and attaching it to my face. At school, I had a lot of fun "haunting" the bandroom and auditorium. :D When I got home, I took off the set, but I must have removed my "disfigurement" a bit too fast, because I had a real one when I looked in the mirror. Strange that it didn't hurt at all. :mask: I'm in the process of figuring out a better way to do it, so I can avoid any more accidental self-mutilation. :D

I randomly started singing 'We Have all been Blind'. People looked at me like I was crazy, and even my friends who also love POTO.
And we went on a weekend trip to my cousin's wedding, and I could not leave my POTO DVD at home. I brought it, and watched it when we were there. (Not during the wedding though)

I often burst out singing POTO songs wherever I am - including lessons! My friend and I managed to do the whole of Notes (trk10) of POTO during a Maths lesson, being all of the characters (Andre, Firmin, Raoul, Mdme Giry, Meg, Carlotta...) but we missed out Prima Donna as neither of us could sing up there! :D

Oh jeez, I'm going to be doing that all the time when I go back to school. Dang you! :)
Every time I go into a basement or even downstairs when it's dark, I end up singing "down once more..." on my way. Which often leads to the rest of the song in turn. Hehe.
Unfortunately, none of my friends are phans like myself, so there are never big group numbers, but if I'm with my mom and my sister, we'll belt out 'Prima Donna' along with the soundtrack. I always end up being Carlotta because I can hit the notes. Not perfectly, mind you, but I do well enough. :)

One time, the guy friend that got me into PoTO (and, strangely, the one in the dream I posted about in the PoTO based Dreams thread) was singing the songs at lunch. I told him to stop because he'd get them stuck in my head, but he didn't listen.
My next class, he had to come in and sit at the computer and do his speech. The teacher introduced the guest and she started talking, and without notcing it, I had burst out humming MOTN, loud. Everyone was looking at me, and Matt just started laughing.

:D Once, I was working on a group physics project, and we were all stumped about how to do a certain thing (can't remember exactly what it was). The solution came to me, and so I started singing, "We have all been blind... and yet the answer is staring us in the face!" My group members had a hilarious expression on their faces, and one said, "Dude, are you high?" I burst out laughing at this remark.

No way!!! Whenever I go down into my basement I do the same thing!!! Haha I thought I was the only one  Well in music class we have a piano and I always go down and play PotO and my class usually looks at me. The odd kid will be liek "Oh Phantom!!" Also when our teacher leaves us for free practise, I play Phantom..... teehee now I can do "far too many for my taste" in music ;) That's such a cute idea.

Hehe me and my friends do many crazy stuff when it comes to POTO!!! But I most say one of the funniest was when me and my best friend were walking down a dirt road, we were at her lake, and we were jsut randomly singing "Phantom of the Opera" Now, we both sing, we are total choir nerds!, and so she was Christine and I was Phantom. We sang the whole song and when it got to the extremely high part we both sang it. Now people's cottages are on either side of thsi road and while we were singing at about a high B flat I turned around and saw this woman smiling at us like we were crazy, my friend didn't see her, and of coruse we are not soprano's at all so the B flat sounded like someone dying, lol.
Another great POTO funniness story was when me and my friends were sitting in front of some lockers at school, waiting for the bell. Well out of the 10 of us, only 5 could sing, like and is in choir and knew the songs so we started singing Past the Point of No Return right there in the HallWay. And everyone walknig by and that was in the HallWay was staring at us the whole time, and my friend, who I swear will be an opera singer one day, started randomly singing the high part to Phantom of the Opera. Now that sounded 10 tiems better than when I sang it, because she is indeed a soprano!!
Well those are my funny Phantom stories!!!! There are lots more but those were the greatest.

My friend and I are both singers but she's the dancer so we watched the movie and split up ALL the parts, I was the more soprano parts but mostly all the girls and she was all the boys and Meg. Then when I went to New Orleans I bought like 5 masks and so my friends and I all took them and tried to learn the Masquerade Dance on the steps and just ran around.
Then there was one time, the night of our graduation and I had 4 girls sleep over and we watched Phantom and me and 2 of my friends sang the high note on Phantom and the next morning my parents told all the other parents that we should never watch Phantom again, jokingly of course.

POTO makes me do crazy things all the time. I'ts nice to know I 'm not alone. Like everyone else I'll burst in to any song whenever I feel the need to. My mom usually tells me to be quiet and my friends give me this look  lol! The funniest thing I've done at 12:00 at night is put candles in my room, dress up like Christine and belt out Angel of music. I put the sound track on and sang over all of Christines parts. I can't help the way I am
Much love :mask:

Ok I was at cadet camp 2 weeks ago. We went to go camping in the forrest. We had to make hoochies(?) and sleep in them. It was around 1 in the morning andevery one was asleep. I guess I was dreaming or something because I woke up and I was screaming Music Of The Night when I woke up. All at one time, every one that was there where like "SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GO TO BED!" It was very aukward.

LOL Jess...that is so funny! Man...I bet your fellow cadets were not happy, lol.
I'm pretty much like everyone else...annoying everyone with busting out POTO songs randomly. Lately I mostly walk around work singing all the songs and annoying people...hehe. I guess the most recent fun POTO thing I did was my friend and I had stopped at a red light and these guys beside us were blaring some rap so then I turn on "Overture/Hannibal" full volume and grin. They turned their heads and stared like "what the heck...". It was priceless :D.

When I went to Wonderland July 1st(yay Canada Day) the ride I was on broke down, i was upside down on a ride that spun in circles. I was sitting beside complete strangers. I was stuck there for 25 minutes and I blurt out to the guy who was fixing it "Now, let it be war upon you both!" The guy just stared at me I was blushing so much I looked like a tomato. And after that, when i was at the top of the drop zone, i started singing " Past the Point of No Return" I got red again but it was slowly replaced by a white face after baing soo scared.

When I was at arts camp I sang verrry loudly in the shower the opening to music of the night. Y aknow "I have brought you..to the seat of sweet music's throne...etc" But I was singing it like a drunk man on purpose and I had my whole dormhall laughing...or atleast all that were in the hall at the time. It was funny!

This wasnt something I did myself, but rather happened to me. At my wedding in June, my husband knowing how much I adore POTO, conspired with my Maid of Honour, and arranged a plot to kidnap me. At a random point during the dance, the Phantom Theme song started blaring out of nowhere, and then my new husband, dressed up as the Phantom from the PONR scene, "kidnaps" me. I couldn't stop laughing, but he did look really cute. My bridesmaids went to the guests and collected "ransom" money, and when we came back into the hall, my face was as red as a tomato.

Awww that's so cute Eriks_Angel!!!
Today my ex dared me to run around my house nude singing POTO. I told him I'd do it only because I don't like to turn down dares, my family was all gone, and because I'll sing POTO in the most awkward of situations...and yeah, it was pretty awkward. Oh well. I only got through one song though...the one with Christine and Meg.

One time, while I was on this site at like three in the morning, no one else was on, really (I don't remember the day.) I was so bored, and I was just waiting for someone to post so I could reply because this site has basically become my life. No one posted, and I was frusterated. I literally started hitting my computer.
I didn't realize my sister had woken up and was watching me.
When someone finally posted, I jumped (my chair is missing three wheels) so my chair fell over. Before I realize I was falling, I screamed 'THANK YOU GOD, THANK YOU ERIK.'
My sister wanted to know who Erik was, and when I told her, I got a weird look.

Another crazy thing I do WAY too often is run around trying to sing Carlottas parts. I can usually reach all the notes, but I am sure it sounds like a cat dying a very painful death.

id have to say that the funniest thing i've ever done was try and make my own version of phantom.
i rearranged the script and got some ppl to play in it and when i was practicing the really high part for christine (n the phone whit my best friend)
she was like "u are clearly not a opera singer"
and then the next day at skool we told everyone and now for jokes i just randomly try to opera sing..and we all luagh its embassarsing but kinda funny.
had to be there moment. just thought id share!

Ummm... I know I'm not a moderator or anything.... but I don't think you are supposed to use abberviations like "u" and "ppl"....
just thought I'd mention it....
That's so funny though! I can't sing the high part very well... I can hit the notes, but I can only imagine how bad it sounds... I am trying to extend my range, and it's getting better.... but sometime or later I am going to have to face it... I am not an opera singer either :D

Yeah, that's how it is for me as well. I'm a soprano in choir, so I can hit the notes, but the really high ones have to sound like crap. The moderately high ones are okay, but I'm no opera star. Oh well, maybe someday... :)

Whenever I find a piano (at school, at my friend's house, whatever), I always just HAVE to start playing every POTO song I know on the piano. I also spend insane amounts of time listening to the soundtrack and replicating them on the piano(I don't have the sheet music). >_< Fortunately, most of my friends are POTO fans...although only one of them is as obsessed as I am. And we sing it everywhere.
*sighs blissfully*
Oh...and I...draw Erik and Christine on random whiteboards in school...and such. =p
Wow, the POTO thing at your wedding...that must have been awesome. I wish I could have seen it as well.

Every now and than, in the hall when there is a big crowd, I will pick a POTO song and sing it outloud for everyone to hear. Sometimes I'll also dance while I sing, a lot of people stare at me while others like how independent I am.
I quote the Phantom everywhere ^_^ haha
My sister was watching this show the other day, and the scene was something like this:
Guy: I don't know wat you want me to do!
Girl: Say you love me
Me: You know I dooooo!
. . .and other such randomness.
Like, in school someone said something about betraying someone, and I was just like...
"I gave you my music. . ." and continued from there.
I don't know, maybe I'm going crazy.

A couple of weeks ago, I was at a basketball game at our school. I'm not too fond of basketball, so as I usually do during b-ball games, I wander around the school. Well, I was walking down a hall at the back of the school and noticed the back entrance to the auditoruim. So I snuck in and went up the stairs that lead to the lighting places and control room, where I proceeded to sing Erik's part to every POTO song that I remembered, from beginning to end. And did his choreography.
What was funny, though, is right after I finished All I Ask of You (Reprise) my sister walks in. Obviously she didn't hear me singing, but she did catch me standing on one of the chairs with my arms out wide. Next time I think I'll go hide in a bathroom stall when I feel the need to bellow out "You will curse the day you did not do all that the Phantom asked of you!"
I am also very fond of singing 'Angel of Music' in French during lunch. One of my friends is a phan, so she just laughs, but my other friends look at my like I'm crazy. What makes it even worse is I don't even speak French, I've just watched the movie in French before (I have a lot of spare time!) So you can imagine what an alto singing Christine's part in a language she doesn't speak sounds like.....

We were learning about adelesence in YO. . . don't ask. And we were talking about how you can't go back and I raised my hand and said. "The bridge is crossed so stand and watch it burn. We've past the point of no return." And everyone looked at me like I was crazy.
Then one time on a feild trip, I had my laptop. . . again don't ask. . . and I started blasting MOTN. And everyone was like, "Where then heck is the that from."
Another was in math class, was when my friend Christine had come in late from another class I sang, "Christine Daaé has returned to you." And everyone started laughing cause it made sense.

I also have my locker decorated with Phantom pictures and Gerard Butler even my binder is decorated I but a warning label that reads:
WARNING This Binder belongs to a Phantom Phan It has pictures of The Phantom of the Opera,Gerard Butler and other various things of the Phantom.

Well I know I almost always sing to the POTO delux-2disc in my car, when traveling back and forth from school, and as I pass people singing, they just keep staring at me like im crazy.(Especially when we're all stopped at a red light).
My friend Brittney and I started putting pictures of really hot guys on our dorm doors, and she knew I loved Gerard Butler. So it is covered with all kinds of pictures of him. Now everyone walks by and is like "wow!"
That's all for now, but im sure there will be more in time.

Ummm, a lot... letsee...
I often sing Poto very loudly during school, at random times, example: in the hall, during lunch while standing on a chair, during a test...
I wrote "I LOVE PONR" on a notebook of mine, LARGE mind you, everyone stops and stares thinking it says something else... tee hee
If someone is a jerk to me I threaten them by saying that I will pujab them... or, my favorite thing to do, is to say absolutely nothing, but drop a small-ish picture of a chandelier on their heads... oh yes, i have those...
that's all i can think of at the moment, although i know more exist...

My ex and I used to sing PoNR on the bus, and we'd have crazy moves for it, and people would get really annoyed, but it was really fun!
And we sang Masquerade on the bus too. That was one of the more.... sad attempts at choreography... But it was fun!
We were going to do it for my schools Talent Show, but then we broke up. But it would have been really embarrassing! I don't sound like le Fantome at all!

I do some pretty weird stuff besides just randomly singing or preforming a scene when someone says a line without knowing it. When I ask people to do things I always so "Do blablabla, Its all I ask of you". When I go into my bathroom (which is small so it makes my voice sound better and more echo-ish) I look into the mirror and start singing the whole The Mirror scene.. yes, I do voices for Christine, the Phantom, and Raoul.. I also say things like "Come, the fools who run my theatre will be missing you".. I also do MANY other things, those are the only things I can think of right now.
When I go back to school Ill probably say "To many notes for my taste" as well.. actually one time, these couple girls were passing notes, and one of them passed one to me about Christine, another girl in my class, and I said "To many notes for my taste, and most of them about Christine, all we've heard since we've came is Miss Daaes naaame" and everyone stared at me.. I also say "Senora, No"(cant spell) like Andre and Firmin do in the one Carlotta scene, one of the ones after 'Notes'.

Once, me and my best friend both didn't have dates to Homecoming so we decided we would both go ahead and go together.
Well, we're both phans so we got this brilliant idea to turn our Homecoming dance into a "masquerade." We went up town and bought these really neat masks (one that looked just like Erik's mask) long black capes and outrageous costumes.
That night when we went to Homecoming you would not believe the stares we got from people! When we walked in we even started singing our own made-up version of Andre and Firmin's "Dear Andre what a splendid party, ect..."
Before we went home we got our pictures taken, posing with Erik's mask. The photographer thought we were insane.
It was some night. :D

Well let's just see what crazy things I have done...
Aside from random daily POTO quotings/references with friends, I've also been known to skip exams and rearrange my schedule to fit in an extra trip to see the show. Now that I'm no longer in school, I'll have to use my holidays wisely.
Last year, though, I've done some CRAZY things with friends. The entire weekend leading up to Halloween was spent in costume and makeup - we made a trip to Denny's at 11pm (in costume, with me dressed as Erik and discarding the mask half way through) just to make people uncomfortable. Later that night we stopped at the local bar.
When the movie was shown on campus in early 2005, my friends and I dressed up in costume to go see it. Oye.
We also performed the Final Lair scene as our last hurrah for a College theatre production class - as an excuse we also held a fun POTO photo shoot later that month. :D Basically we took over the theatre that whole month and wouldn't give it up.
Then, of course, we made a website about it, featuring our fictional group, Pretty Much the Most Useless Group Ever. Screencaps from the Final Lair performance, as well as various costume/makeup photos, can be found on the "Phantom on a Budget" site in my sig.
Sanity is not an option, I say.

The craziest thing I can recall is when a friend and I drove three hours to a Renaissance Faire, only to find it had been held the PREVIOUS weekend, a change not noted at the website. Well, we looked at the empty field, looked at each other, then said almost together, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" "That we could go to Bristol Renaissance Faire instead?"
So, we headed farther north, forgetting that we had to jog quite a distance east, adding MUCH more time to the journey. We ended up at Bristol only two hours from closing--and it ends at 7 p.m.!
Just call us Thelma & Louise. *SIGH*

Well, one time on an orchestra trip, lots of my stuff kept disappearing and showing up in odd places (like the bottom of one of my roomie's unpacked suitcase), or my hairbands in the snack bag. Whenever something disappeared, we'd sing: "He's here: the phantom of the hotel room!"
And "your phantom" has officially become an insult. (I don't do the "your mom" thing, but some people do...it's so annoying)
I sing random lines from musicals if they fit the topic, but I think most people here do that.

EDIT: OMG! I was just rereading some threads when I realized that my response was to have been POTO-related! Anyone who happened along had to wonder what the heck my post had to do with the topic.
So, please forgive me if I deleted my non-POTO-related stupid stunt, which had to do with singing but had nothing to do with the topic. *SIGH* Bad Cyn! Read the opening post THEN post!

I've got quite a few here.
I also randomly start singing/humming the songs when it fits the occasion. I've lately started listening to the showtunes station I get, thanks to digital cable, waiting for a POTO song to come on. Then I get really, really excited and start screaming when it does. Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again came on a couple minutes ago and I freaked out and sang along, even though I'm nowhere near a soprano and it sounded perfectly awful.
Also, I have a black fedora I found really cheap at a costume store and wear that fairly often. Yesterday I put it on and chased my sister around and threatened her, but she's faster than I am so it didn't really work. For Family Reading Night at my sister's school I dressed up as Erik (you were allowed to dress up as a book character) and earned quite a few stares.
During lunch at school I often run around shouting POTO-related stuff at my friends, none of whom are phans. I ask them if they know who Michael Crawford is and freak out when they don't. Also, one time I put in the tape my sister recorded of High School Musical and fast-forwarded it to the part where Chad tells Troy that he won't end up on cereal boxes if he sings in musicals, and uses Michael Crawford as an example. (Obviously I have a favourite ALW phantom. :) ) Even though the tape was having technical difficulties, I yelled at him for underestimating the power of Michael Crawford and a whole bunch of other stuff.
I should probably stop now, since I'll get in a lot of trouble if I don't get some homework done eventually.

I plan on taking a chance and trying to sing in the Rotunda room at the Paris Opera. I've heard some others have done that too, and even got applauded by the staff! I can almost hear Erik's voice going "Brava!Brava!Bravissimi!"

oh oh! Well in class during break I started singing Prima Donna horribly (on purpose) so then I grabbed Jacqueline and we started to dance while singing it together. I had to go potty so on my way out a skip around singing: "PRIMA DONNA FIRST LADY OF THE STAGE!"
Ah, then during the silence. It was around dismissal and it was Friday. In the middle of silence this happened:
**awkward silence...**
ME: OH! IT'S FRIDAY! I'M GOONA WATCH PHANTOM!

I remember that I was in the park with my friends, and we were climbing on this big rope structure thingy, when my phone went off. I'd stupidly left my bag with my phone in it on the bench, so went I got there, it had already stopped ringing. There was a woman on the bench and she smiled at me, handed me my bag, and said (naturally my ringtone is the POTO theme) 'Phantom of the Opera? Very nice.'
I freaked out and started jabbering away, going 'OMG, OMG, OMG, I LOVE that show! When did you see it? Did you like it? Who was playing the Phaaantom?"
At that point, my friends intervened and dragged me off. I probably looked like an insane person. Even as I was pulled away, I was whining 'But she's a phaaaaan! Hey! I wanna ask her about Phaaaantom!"

Ooh! I'm absolutely no stranger to doing slightly crazy things when it comes to being a Phan.
Probably my most public/embarrassing one was trying to kiss the poster of Hugh Panaro as Phantom outside of the Majestic Theater in NYC. There were lots of people there and my cousin actually had to drag me away. This is also why we don't discuss my status as a Panarophile (a term coined for fans of Hugh).
I do a lot of little things that show how I can integrate Phantom into almost any situation:
Well, this one isnt actually quoting, but it shows PotO ruling my life:
PA State Capital Building:
Tour Guide: And these steps you are standing on now are the grand staircase. It is modeled after the famous Paris Opera House.
BF 1: *turns toward me* Damn..
Me: *joygasms* and starts humming Masquerade.
We actually did some of the little dance that the one guy does on the stairs in the '04 movie. People looked at us like we were crazy.
Hotel in Washington (fire alarm going off inside, everyone standing outside):
Friend 1: Why does this have to happen all the time?
Friend 2: I don't even see the fire where is it? I want to see it.
Friend 1: You're crazy.. You'll get burned alive if there really is a fire.
Friend 2: Cool.
Me: *sung* When will the flames at last consume us!
Friend 1 & 2: *shake their heads sadly
Turns out there wasn't a fire. Just some stupid people burnt a bag of popcorn. 3 fire trucks there within 2 minutes. Was kinda cool.
Shopping with Mom:
Me: *singing* Past the point of no return. Make your decision! This game of which to choose just has to end!
Mom:
Me: Past all thought of right, or wrong. One finally question! How long until these things are two-for-one?
Mom:  No more Phantom for you!
Home:
Cousin: *ties up her dog (femal chocolate lab) that I had been playing with a few minutes ago.* There, now you behave *dog whines*
Me: *rushes to doorway, and in my best 'I'm a very pretty boy' voice sings* FREE HER! Do what you like only FREE HER! Have you no pity?
Cousin:
Though, my cousin does get in on the action too. Shes a phan. The night we saw Phantom on Broadway, we were back in the hotel and I had called my boyfriend to squee a bit.
Cousin: *wrapped in sheets* Flattering child you shall know me, look why in sheets I hide.
Me:
Boyfriend: *on the phone, can hear my cousin* Is she drunk?
Me: No, but I think I'd feel better if she was...
Cousin: Look at these gaudy sheet checkers, I am there inside! *jumps out*
Me: And I though that I was insane.
Boyfriend: Don't lie.. You're just jealous that she thought of that first.
Me: Your point?

I was at a theme parkwith my friend and my sisters and my sister. My friend and I and his little sister were going on this little bechy-thing ride with numbered boxes. I yelled, "OMIGOSH! WE HAVE TO GET BOX 5!!" When he asked why, I just smirked. He didn't get it exactly but he got that it had to with PotO, so he pulled me on box 11 instead. And while on the ride (I don't scream on rides *except the ferris wheel. DON'T ASK) I was singing Point of no Return and Phantom of the opera. I was singing in his ear and when I sang the note of the title song, we went, "Ouch, Chris! What was that for?"
I said, "For not letting me get box 5." And more smirking.

Okay, so this happened today...
I'd just come out of seeing POTC 3 with my friend when I saw this big poster ad for a new movie, with a picture of a boy with half his head a skull, the other half a face. I stood there for a good ten seconds, staring and gasping "OMG! OMG! OMG! ERIIIIIK!", until my friend dragged me away, with me still gasping, "ERRRIIIIIIIK!" That earned me some odd looks from the other people, I can tell you that!

Once in Life Science (back in 7th grade) we were working in groups and talking about frogs. Our teacher was nice enough to let us becoem lost in music, because before I knew it I was singing the theme song, PofNR, and WyouweresomehowHereagain and all that good stuff! Some where impressed, some where odded out, I was mortified. Then my friend Ginny asked me 'Hey Erika what is the heart considered? An organ right?' I bursted out, "What is wrong with you woman!? An organ is a intrument that you play! you Retard!"
She looked at me weird, then replied, "That picture of an organ..."
I was confused, as you all see, I sat down after my lecture of what an organ is (intrumentally)
After class, the teacher said, "Morrow is a quiz of the frog.blah.and on and on...till, and Erika remember: There are two meanings for Organ...your heart and the intrument! okay?" I could only say!" I knew it!" with a stupid smile, and chuckle! Amongst friends that was voted the best 7th grade moment ever!

I was sitting in the car with the radio on and suddenly something about POTO came on and I sat strait up (the music from it was playing) and said (my mom was sitting in the car with me) something like "Is that Phantom of the Opera" or something like that my mom must have thought I was crazy. So now I think I have like this 6th sense to tell when POTO is playing. Now it kind of scares me when out of no were it starts playing 'case then for some reason I just automatically go to the sound.

I have to say, I'm kind of jealous of all of you. The only insane-ish thing I've done was beg my Mom to buy me the Highlights From POTO casette tape, and then torturing her with the soundtrack when we got home. (She's not a fan of musicals. Alright this may shock and amaze but most likely shock you. For all of ya'll that know me, this is the most un-Viktoria thing ever imagined possiable. If any of you repeat this, I will kill you.
My sister and I have our own little fantasy world of POTO that we call "POTO (pa-to) Land. Get this though, we play with Barbies. No lie. I know I'm 13, so that's really weird, and it's especially weird since I'm me. Trust me though, it's a bit more adult...that's almost an oxy-moron isn't it? Seriously though, we play them with like these sterotypical personalities. Erik's a contolling smart mouth, Christine's a ditz, and Raoul's an idiot. It's a really weird way to go about things with POTO, but hey, my sister and I bond by doing so.

I had to close the store I work at one night by myself and I was leaving with the money bags under my arm, my purse and keys....basically a sitting duck for any cretin or scumbag to prey upon. Sure enough, I look up and see this gang of real thug-looking guys coming my way. No way to reach my cell phone and one of them yells out, "hey cutie! Whatcha got there!"
No lie...OK my heart's in my throat so I start screaming, "ERIK! I GOT TROUBLE!"
No kidding, the guys took off running away like mad! Probably figured some big beefy dude name Erik was gonna jump them. I was so scared and shaking when I got in my car, then I just started laughing like crazy. When I finally got myself under control I called the cops and had them follow me to the bank. I have since NOT closed by myself. I refuse to.

What kind of book is that - does it explain everything you ever wanted to know about Phantom?
As to strange things...I taped Phantom-related pics all over the front of my binder yesterday. There's a rose, a mask, the pic that's in my signature, and two gorgeous pics of Mikey Crawford. I assume Lizzy's talking about the companion book to the 2004 movie -- it talks about the making of the film, and has the entire screenplay included. That is, unless she's referring to George Perry's book, "The Complete Phantom of the Opera," which talks about the making of the original London production (and also includes the whole show's script). :mask:

Oh, it's awesome . . . Amazingly, I got my copy from the bargain bin of one of the local bookstores; it was only $2.00 there! The first time I saw it, though, was when my band teacher showed us the pictures and had us read the script while listening to the original London CDs for the first time, to get us acquainted with the show before everyone (except me *grumble*) got to see it on Broadway. Ahh, memories . . . With the right speaker system, I still get the same chills I did when I first heard it, every single time. :D
I've got one random thing that happened a little over a year ago. It probably doesn't qualify as funny, strange, or crazy, but is pretty cool nonetheless . . . I was at the annual carnival of my sister's alma mater, Punahou School in Hawaii -- the same school that Barack Obama and Ian Jon Bourg (the Phantom in my avatar) graduated from! Every year at the carnival, they have a tent in which they sell books donated by students, teachers, and friends of the school. I went in there looking mainly for any versions of Gaston Leroux's novel that I didn't have. (I've got DeMatto's and Bair's translations. XD)
Well, I didn't find any copies of Leroux's POTO . . . but I did find a copy of Susan Kay's Phantom! Great condition, too; one small scratch on the cover, but not a single blemish on any of the pages. That makes me think it was never opened, which is a pity for whoever had previously owned it . . . they seriously missed out. But on the other hand, pristine pages were great news for me! ;) And -- here's the kicker -- like most of the books at the sale, Phantom cost only 50 cents . . . 'Twas the bargain of a lifetime.
I checked back at this year's carnival to see if there were any more copies (or any other POTO-related stuff). No luck, but maybe next year. ^_^

05-25-2008, 03:02 PM
Now that is awesome. I had to order my copy of Phantom, and it has not come in yet. *sniff*
Something strange or funny...how about the three freewrites I did on Mikey Crawford? I needed a way to get my feelings out, so I just started writing about him generally, as well as about how I feel about him. The second and third freewrite get pretty romantic, whereas the first one is just a general one, like an introduction almost. ;)

Well I was having a Major Phantom day (when I can't stop thinking about Phantom) and I was watching the movie. OH and when I was at my friends house (my other friend was there to and I had made them both obsessed) we watched Phantom and whenever Erik would come on screen we would start to fight for the TV. We actually sat on each other to be in front of the TV. We came out with rug burns and burses. Oh and I was talking about the 2004 companying but I do also have the George Perry one too.

This is slightly embarrassing…
Yesterday, we went on an English excursion to a Theatre production of a modern version of Romeo and Juliet.
I had other things on my mind, and during the middle of the Ball at the Capulet house, I realised it was a masquerade!
I shouted out “Oh my god! Masks! Phantom!” in a super loud voice, which caused everyone to look at me really weirdly. All of my friends were trying not to burst into laughter, because they know my obsession with PotO.
Thank goodness it was only my class that attended, and the actors quickly got over my outburst.
Less to say, my teacher wasn't impressed :D

*One time, my cousin and I were watching The Simpsons Movie. There was this scene where Marge was telling Homer something about how it seemed like he never listened to her (I think), and then the scene basically came to a monkey playing the cymbals in Homer's head, and I started singing "Masquerade". Well, I created my own version of Erik's "Red Death" outfit, which consists of a black tank top, some black pants, and a long, red sweater that buttons up only partway. I think that if I could get a half-mask like the one Erik wears, I could wear said outfit at Halloween! :mask:

One thing I do is listen to my OLC recording whenever I'm in the shower, but yesterday was the craziest. When I heard Michael Crawford begin to sing his part in the title song, I actually said, "Good morning, Michael."
I also listen to my OLC recording at night when I'm trying to go to sleep. I just put it on MOTN and set it to the "repeat" feature, and I'm all set. I just lay there in my warm bed with my eyes closed, and let Michael work his magic. If anyone was going to be a god, it would be him.

I sometimes rewrite and "phantomize" songs. For example, I recently phantomized "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music.
Offended Carlottas and phantoms with issues
Songs that make me so sad that I need tissues
Raouls who are awesome, masks tied on with strings
These are a few of my favorite things!

First of all, I only drink my coffee in my POTO mug. I got it when I saw the show for the second time on June 6, 2008. It is my favorite mug, and I simply refuse to drink coffee out of any other mug now.
Also, when I watch "The Price Is Right," if there is a chandelier as one of the items up for bids, I go insane. I get really hyper and spazzy, and proceed to drive my mom insane (she watches the show with me).

Yea, I watched the stage show for my bday on the 15th June, 2008.
I was outside in the interval section, and people were flocking around to by souveniers from POTO...
I dunno what possesed me, but I brought a snow globe for $85. Yes, $85...
It features Erik and Christine in the Mirror scene, and it plays Music of the Night...
Now I llisten to it every night before bed, and my mum has already threatens to chuck it away, she's so sick of it :D:D

I too have a POTO snowglobe that plays MOTN but this one has a white half-mask, a sheaf of staff paper and a little candle inside. My favorite one though is one I got years and years ago at a music box shop.
It's a black laquered box with a white mask on front and it plays Masquerade, but the funny thing is its age has caused it to have a malfunction that makes the thingy inside slip making it play at odd times, even when the lid is closed...whenever this happens my mom teases me and says, "Must be Erik up to his tricks!"

My favorite response when my boyfriend is being obnoxious is to snarl at him Erik-style, "You try my patience!"
His reply? "You must come over and try mine sometime!"

This past week was my birthday and my party is this Saturday so I've been cleaning up a lot. Just a few days ago I found an old teddy bear that my younger brother had when he was really little. The bear came with this little magician cape and top hat (we lost that though) so I decided to have a little fun with him and make him a little mask to go with his very Phantom getup. I renamed him "Bearik". I'll post some pics if you guys are interested.

Sometimes when I am thinking about phantom, even in public, I will snap back to reality and discover I have subconsiously started singing ''Point of No Return''. I'm at my grandparents house, and just today my lovely grandma let me go on the scooter up and down the path forever singing various phantom songs. Sometimes she joined in. Just without the scooter. Only a couple of people looked at me strangely.

This is like semi-strange not full blown strange but something strange. Just before I go to bed at night I have mind conversations with Erik. I say something in my head and then imagine his response. And sometimes instead of just conversations I make up whole stories. I'm losing my mind no wait I already lost it. :D

Yesterday, at the shops, I swear I ran into an identical twin to Musical/movie Christine.
She was super pretty too, and had waist lengt curly brown hair. I
couldn't pluck up the courage to ask what her name was though, cos that might have been rude.....

Today, my cell phone rang, and when I picked it up, the person calling on the other end introduced himself as Eric Grayson, "from Heald College." I, being totally naive at the time, asked the poor guy if he was related to the Phantom of the Opera. That, in turn, led to him asking me what the Phantom's last name is, and I responded with, "Destler." Incorrect spelling of the name, yes, but close. However, my point is that I had a heart attack (not literally) after I hung up the phone. :mask:
I went and saw Dark Knight with my best friend yesterday, who is well aware of my Phan-isms, and the first time we saw Two-Face, I quite audibly said "He's here... the Phantom of the Opera!" and then proceeded to start quietly singing "In sleep he sang to me, in dreams he came..."
I'm sure the people sitting around us where disturbed beyond measure.

^ Yeah, that movie I swear reminded me of Phantom as well! The title was dark-ish...and well, two face is just awesome....
This happened to me yesterday night. I was out dumping the rubbish, singing the POTO theme song, when a guy walked past our house. I had seen him quite often before, and I'm pretty sure he lived around my block, but I had never spoken to him. As I was singing in a really carrying voice, he heard me and called out to me: "You sing really well,"
In return, I asked him if he knew the Phantom of the opera theme song, and asked him if he wanted to sing it with me...
:D:D
Lest to say, my mum wasn't impressed, but heck I was sure impressed with the guy's singing voice! Super awesome voice he had. His name was Richard, not Erik unfortunately. XDD

Last night at my work one of my employees just walked out. I guess she thought I was being too strict or too b----y or whatever. Anyway, when a couple of the other girls came to my office and told me she had left, I just rolled my eyes and started singing, "What a way to run a business! Spare me these unending trials!"
Needless to say, the girls thought I had gone nuts!:D
LOL about getting the stranger to sing with you.
That's awesome.
And last night I was practicing dance with my dad, and I remembered how my instructor is always telling me that I need to ACT the flavour of the dance properly. So if it's a flirty dance, I have to act flirty, if it's a slow romantic dance, I have to act like he's the only man in the world for me.
So my tactic last night to practice this: Different PoTO characters/ships for different dances...
In Cha Cha I was Carlotta: The spicy, attention demanding diva. In Waltz I was Christine dancing with Raoul, my true love, and in the ever depressing, slow, heartbroken-ish dance called Nightclub Two Step, I was Christine dancing with Erik: Our final goodbye.
Needless to say I was quite proud of myself.
I'll never tell my Dad or my dance instructor though...

LOL...Nice tactic to dance in "style" :D
Yeah, I saw Richard again today...well..night. He still remembers me as the POTO obsessed girl...I don't he'll forget that night when I randomly started singing with him :D
Today I went down to my local shopping centre to buy a book...I was very bored, and while I as waiting in line to purchase the book, I started to twirl on the spot, singing Prima Donna..
The shop keepers all thought I had gone nuts, and they were very reluctant to serve me :D
Hahaha awww!
People should sing and dance more in public.
I'm sure it would catch on if people were braver...
I was singing Point Of No Return at the hardware store today... I'm sure that elicited a few odd looks. Particularily at "how long should we two wait before we're one?"
Also, I was at the craft store today too, and I walked through an aisle that had a bunch of bright, fluffy feather boas. So I put one on and pretended I was Carlotta. Then I passed an aisle with a mask-making kit and let out a ridiculously girlish giggle at the plain white mask I saw.
My Dad turned around and asked what I was laughing at. I just looked innocent and said nothing.
I also looked at all the fake roses in the silk floral section...
Wow. This is getting bad...

Shame on them! Tell 'em to get some class! :D
I work near a military college and sometimes we get flyovers. When they do this the whole restaurant shakes and the central light fixture jiggles a little. This happened last night and I said (very loudly too) as I was walking through the main dining area, "Behold, they are flying to bring down the chandelier!"
Ya, a lot of looks after that one....:o

Here's something that happened to me only just yesterday. My aunt was talking about an emcee, and when I heard that, my first thoughts were Michael Crawford. This is because his initials are M.C., so it sounds the same as what she was talking about. Later, I realized she hadn't been talking about Michael Crawford at all, but rather that my Michael-obsessed brain was tricking me into thinking that she was. I felt like such a dolt when I realized all of this! :mask:
This one is really sad...
Me and my dad got in a really bad fight the other night that almost came to blows at one point (How lovely, especially with "No One Would Listen" on my DVD player in the background)
And I was soooo incredibly upset about the whole thing that I went and sat in my room and wrote an entire scenario in which I tell Erik EVERYTHING that happened and he just listened to me and told me it would be okay.
Sad, and pathetic that I can't seem to trust any of my REAL friends with this, but it definitely made a difference.

Sounds like something I would have done in math last term... God my teacher hated me. I was either sleeping, reading, drawing, writing stories or being a bad influence on my friends.
I was just outside having a smoke, and it occurred to me I live behind a pond.
I was suddenly filled with the irresistible urge to make a boat and paddle around in a cape at night.
Soooo I was imagining this, and laughing maniacally.
I also wanna help teach Ballet at my little sisters dance school.
I've decided I will register with the last name "Giry" and be ruthless with the little girls. Complaining about their rondejambes and such. Then I will save a little orphan boy and hide him in my house...

It was my dad's birthday and we made him a blueberry pie. The minute we sat down my mom told us to "feast". Naturally I finished it will "-your eyes! Last Saturday, when I had my voice lesson, I think I drove my teacher more insane than she already is. I am always obsessing over Michael Crawford when I am there, but never so much as last Saturday. So by the end of the lesson, she was calling Andrew Lloyd Webber Michael Crawford, and Michael Crawford Andrew Lloyd Webber. I think that this Saturday, I am going to find some way to torture her involving those incidents. :mask:
My house is really big. I could comfortably hide someone in it and no one would know the difference.
I MADE my siblings watch PoTO today.
As if that isn't bad enough, I was hard-pressed not to quote every single line of the script, or say inappropriate things about Gerik's physique, including crotch-bulge.
Tickled my fancy though when my 4 year old sister looked at me and said "I think the girl should marry him so he's not bad anymore" To which I patted her on the head and said "Good girl!"
They are converts now...

^^Your sister is awesome, Lori! That's pretty darn cool! :D
This one happened in art back in 6th grade, where there is four people to a table. The four people where me, Caitlyn, the major tom-boy whom I love very much, Stephen the very extremely smart one, and Tanner, the gangster <Seriously. Gangster. He will be one someday. T.T
Caitlyn asked the table what we thought the meaning of life was. Stephan, being funny, said toaster waffles, which made me laugh up my spleen. Tanner said "That's a dumb question" and I said "Lordie, you people are funny. You have such wonder-pippicle answers, but the true meaning of life, is clearly, Erik." Tanner just smiled, shook his head, and went back to work. Stephan gave me a weird look, and Caitlyn said, "Who's Erik?" I just PFFTing and walked away. That was fun, and it got the whole classes' attention. That was amusing. XDDDD

Mine involves my POTO T-shirt that I got back in June and just wore for the first time last Sunday. Well, I decided that I was not going to let it get dirty in any way. (Except water or dust and hair, 'cause that stuff will come off anyway.) Well, we were walking out the door to go meet my stepmom for lunch and I was wearing a pink lightweight sweater over it. My dad, upon seeing the sweater says,
"What are you wearing a sweater for? It's 75 degrees outside!,"
and I nearly busted out laughing and said,
"Um, I'm not wearing it for the weather, dad."
I had to explain to him later that I was wearing it so if I got any food on my clothes, it would get on the sweater. Therefore, the sweater was protecting the T-Shirt.

This one is really strange. You have been warned.
Whenever I watch The Price Is Right, there always seems to be an item up for bids (or a prize) from the Michael C. Fina Company. Lately, though, my Michael Crawford-obsessed brain seems to want to substitute "Fina" for "Crawford," making it the "Michael C. Crawford" Company. Moreover, I actually say "Michael C. Crawford" whenever the announcer says "Michael C. Fina." :mask:
I think I laughed for ten minutes straight today when I was reading my drivers ed pamphlet outlining the curriculum for the in car lessons.
Browsing down the bulleted list, one of the items was "point of no return"
Sadly I get the feeling I'm going to annoy the hell out of my instructor when we get to that part. *drives over bridge* "past the point of no return, the final threshold, the bridge is crossed so stand and watch it buuuurn!"
Also, got my copy of Leroux's Phantom in the mail today.
I took it out of the box and the first thing I did was embrace it to my cheek like a puppy.

One of my aunts on my mom's side of the family knows how addicted I am to POTO, so she gave my mom to give to me (are you ready for this?) a white half-mask that sort of looks like the one Erik wears for most of POTO!! My mom gave it to me last night, and the first thing I did was put it on and ask her to take a picture of me with it on. Here is a link to the photo that we took.
http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff207/cruiselover1989/MyselflookinglikeErik.jpg
Also, late last night, I came into the living room with the mask on, hoping to frighten my mom. Unfortunately, she had gone to bed (it was after midnight when I did this). I was so mad, but I intend to try it again sometime soon, like in a few days. *insert evil Michael Crawford laugh here*
Speaking of evil Michael Crawford laughing, in the 7 hour car ride to Kelowna, I listened to the cast recording, and found myself continuously rewinding and replaying the like... 12 second part where he's laughing like a crazy at Carlotta's croak.
Maniacal laughter has always been a huge aphrodisiac for me...
And since I've been on vacation, I've had plenty of silly crazy things happening...
For example: Tubing with my mom and my little sister yesterday on the lake, we hit some big waves and literally got air. Instead of crying "OH GOD." I instead whined "Eriiiiiik!" As if he would come save me...
And then when we were just cruising in the boat I sat in the front and sang Phantom of The Opera like it was completely normal. What scares me the most is that no one said anything.

About a year ago, I too was quizzing a friend on POTO and we came to the question, "What does Erik sleep in?" Now the correct answer was a coffin but my friend said, "The nude?" I laughed so hard!
I was talking to my Grandma today about how I saw Phantom when I went to London last month, and she asked who played him, and my Mom told him it was the guy from Canada and blah blah blah, and then I said "He's Iranian!" And my stepdad who was listening said "That fits well, because in the book he's from Persia!"
And I like... practically leapt across the table and was like, "NO! Erik is NOT from Persia! He spends time in Persia but he's from France dammit!" And we got in this big huge argument over it and such...
But then I looked it up on the interweb and proved him wrong.
I had such an overwhelming sense of pride in myself...
On the other hand... my lucky Grandma got to see Michael Crawford as Erik...
Grrrr....

At one of my old jobs, the place was a nesting grounds for some spoiled co-workers who would throw tantrums every time they did not get their way. (The CEO was an idiot and had a gift for hand-grooming them that way, one by one.) I would feel about to explode when they'd threaten to quit. I'd say to myself, "This thing does not 'appen!"
Often if they threatened to quit, it was all I could do NOT to say, "Please, DO!" and instead I'd start whistling to the tune of "Primma Donna."
They are not the most cultured bunch, to put it mildly. I am actually hoping they know by now what I was whistling, just so they can be cheesed off.

I MIGHT get to go see it again in December if my Mom goes back to London for figure skating training. Next shot is May if Worlds is in Europe again...
I was at the college library today supposedly doing a bibliography of the Mexican Revolution, when I found a book full of costume ideas and such, and one of the how-to's was for a Phantom of The Opera costume.
I skimmed through it and noticed a sentence saying something along the lines of "being the terrifying Phantom, eager to tear off his mask to horrify his lady-love"
I had difficulty resisting the urge to take the book to the front desk and say it's not accurate: Erik would NEVER purposely take off his mask to scare Christine! It's the other way around! He's trying to hide his ugly face from her! She's the one that got curious and scared herself! RAAAAAAAWR!
But I was a good child and closed the book quietly and returned it to the shelf...

So when I slipped behind it to mix a drink, I naturally slipped and fell in a puddle of water, landing in a very ignominious position. When I was 14 I traveled to Ireland and London with a touring choir that I was in and all through the trip we'd run down the streets of whatever town we were in singing Phantom at the top of our lungs. Then in London while we were on one of our little sing-a-pades we happened to stumble upon the guy who was playing Raoul in the show (which we had no knowledge of at the moment) and he laughed and then complimented us and then went on his way.
Then the next day we went to see Phantom of the Opera and after the show was over we got to go meet the actors. So the guy who played Raoul came over and was like "Hey I remember you! You were the girls that were singing in the street!" which then got us in trouble with our dirrector for "disturbing the peace and makeing American's look bad" but we couldn't have cared less.

A strange thing happened with my math teacher the other day. Math isn't my most shining subject so I just barely pass it most of the time. Needless to say, I don't really answer questions most of the time. So, one day she called on me anyway and apperently I made one of the biggest mistakes in solving the equation. Then, she did the best thing I've ever seen. She smiled really creepily and pointined to me, just like Lon Chaney! I'm convinced that he posessed her or something for that brief moment. I think I'm going crazy...

I went to two thrift stores today, and at one, I bought a nutcracker. When I was standing in line to pay for it (and the other things I'd bought), I realized the nutcracker was deformed. He has no nose, and also has a horizontal line on the left side of his face. Therefore, I named him Erik, because he reminds me of the Phantom.

This was so random.
The restaurant I work at as hostess and manager just got sold out and the new owner and I were in conference in the office. Well, this really nosy girl works for us and she doesn't care too much for me. While me and the boss were talking I heard a noise outside the closed office door so I flung it open real quick and sure enough there Ms. Nosy was listening in on our conversation!
I roared at her (without thinking), "You little prying Pandora!!"
Luckily my boss ( a big POTO fan) thought it was hilarious!
I then went on to tell the girl she had better be glad she had a nose to stick into other people's business!
She has since then endevored to stay far away from me!

Yesterday for Christmas, I went to my aunt's house. She has two chandeliers in her house: one in her everyday dining room, and one in her fancier dining room. Which in itself is pretty cool, but what is even cooler is that before we left, I got my mom to take a picture of the fancier chandelier using my phone. Now the picture she took is my cell phone's background! :biglaugh:

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine was really nervous about singing in our Christmas show, so I tried to coax her into practicing in front of me. My method of doing so was shouting, "Sing, my angel of music! Sing for me!" in my very best Phantom voice. She was pretty creeped... Ah well.

My friend and I sung Phantom of the Opera, while upside down on an ride that comes into town. I always burst into song....one time in a shop and people turned and looked at me, I saw my friend and went, "Sing once again with me! Our strange duet, my power over you, grows stronger yet!" I think people thought I was mad.
A heap of friends (all POTO lovers) are going to this kinda, scary house type thing and we plan to sing the Phantom songs all the way through it....will have to post the videos/photos if we do xD

Since joining the POTO "phanworld," I have been fascinated with chandeliers. While on my most recent trip to Reno, I spotted at least five different chandeliers, two of which I took pictures of. One of the chandeliers was in the steak house, which was in the basement of our hotel (exciting in itself, but not the point). We just happened to be seated close to the chandelier, and that made me want to shout, "Behold! She is singing to bring down the chandelier!" (I did not, though.)
Also, during most of the trip, I blamed every mishap on Erik. That drove my family crazy by the end of the trip. An example: we were on the train coming home last night, and a bag of cookies would not open. So what did I do? I said something like, "Erik must have glued the bag shut!"

We studied POTO in my French class recently, and since all incidents are the Phantom's fault my teacher told us, "Whenever you don't know the answer on a test, your best bet is to write Erik." We're past that unit now, but I still write Erik whenever I don't know an answer.

Whenever I get nervous I sing POTO songs. I was in Algebra once and there was a HUGE test. I hate math and tests so i was extra nevous. I asked to go to the bathroom to calm down so I began singing i the bathroom, i was singing "Thats All I Ask of You" and I was so nervou I forgot to sing quieter in the halls so then all the people in the halls and the teachers started laughing and I suddenly relized I was singing... i was so embarassed

Okay get this right before Thanksgiving break from school I had Acting class, and i don't know about you, but crazy thing happen here. So what happened was completely normal.
My friend Alex and I started to sing Phantom-->music of the Night-->All I ask of you-->Point of No return--(finally)Track down...
So during Phantom: he got a lil physical and I acted all Christine like and gazed at him in amazement....
Music of the night: a bit more physical and once again stunned :)
all I ask of you: all romantic and what not, then he got on his knees and sang as he grabbed my ankle and i dragged on all over the stage hehe! :)
Point of no Return: let's just say subtle...involved....ness ???
Track down this Murderer; He then sang Raoul's and Erik's part and I sang Christine and the mob (yay mobs! hehe) and so when it came to the bridge of the song where Raoul and Erik both sang different phrases at the SAME time XD let's just say he sorta hyperventilated after sing "Christine I...*coughcough* *school bell for the end of the day* Oh forget it!"

XD I have a buddy who I always do random Phantomy stuff with as well.
About 3 years ago, we tried to do a Phantom spoof when my friend's parents were out, and for the sake of it, we recorded it. : D It was really badly done, but hey, it was fun!
I got to dress as Erik, who was having serious issues with phan-girls trying to get into his computer room, whilst my friend played a drama-queen and x-factor obsessed Christine. XD And also at one point Erik ran into the garden and tried to sing the Sound of Music (until we realised there were some little kids next door in their garden as well, and had to retreat inside).
I also played Raoul at one point, who screamed like mad whenever the PotO theme tune played. XD Aha, strange, aren't we?
By the way. Can-canning to the Phantom of the Opera remix is a good form of excercise! : D It's another strange thing we've done.

I had a weird "Phantom" experience last night.
We had just gotten done with a concert given by the wonderful Broadway star Kelli O'Hara, (who came back to her hometown last night, good ole, Elk City, Ok, to do a show. The woman's voice is amazing!)
Anyway, as we were entering the reception hall afterwards, some guy that used to cut my dad's hair stopped to speak to us and I swear, he looked almost exactly like Patrick Wilson's Raoul! I actually thought he was at first, then realized someone like him wouldn't be at a small-town concert.
That's the first time I've ever seen anyone who looked anything like one of the characters! So cool!

I had a fit the other night when my favourite TV show, Supernatural referenced Phantom.
Not much really, but the character Sam, walked into an old movie theatre and the sign above the doors said "Now Playing: Phantom of The Opera"
I was like "YES! FINALLY MY TWO LOVES HAVE COME TOGETHER"
Plus he goes inside and there's some crazy guy sitting behind the stage playing organ music...
Ah, yes. I recall that episode and had to fight the urge to fry my face from kissing the TV.
Another Sammy lover? I feel so unfaithful to Erik oftentimes when Sam graces my TV set with his presence. I've had a few nice dreams about him recently... nothing dirty, just nice. (One of them involved my riding on a motorcycle with him. I was on the seat behind him, "hugging" him to hold on for dear life as he went racing about to who-knows-where.)

Also, I tend to imagine what Erik might do in certain situations. It's really starting to affect my choices in life.

I'm helping a friend of mine with a short film - a student project - but I have trouble keeping myself from laughing when I act, so to get me used to the camera we were doing some random improv skits and such. After a while we started acting out scenes from Phantom. But that's not the best part: we did this in her front yard, with random people walking by, because apparently we have no shame. :P

Oh, I've got one. I've had a few Phantom-related embarrassments over the years, but this is probably the best.
Ok, so, once, my two friends and I were re-enacting Down Once More on our school stage just for a laugh, with me playing Erik. There were quite a few of our other mates there, and I think someone was filming it. Anyways, there I was ranting and raving and unable to see anything out of my right eye due to both the prosthetics and my blindness, when this happened -
Me/'Raoul' - For either way you choose, you cannot/he has to win!"
Me - "So do you end your days with me, or do you send him to his - "
At this point, I stepped backwards in order to prepare to yank the noose, but misjudged my step. With a pathetic little whimper that sounded something like 'nyeh', I disappeared smoothly off the edge of the stage and landed in a undignified pile on the floor, nearly throttling 'Raoul' in the process as I forgot to let go of the rope.
'Raoul' and 'Christine' just fell about (well, 'Raoul' did as soon as she could breathe properly), as did everyone else in the hall at the time. As did I, as a matter of fact. And to add insult to injury, I believe the recording is still floating around somewhere...

I had a weird thought about Phantom yesterday, does that count?
Yesterday I was listening to "Now or Never," the first track off the High School Musical 3 album, and I started thinking, How funny would that be if you put a bunch of different versions of Erik into a basketball game against a bunch of different versions of Raoul with the Christines being cheerleaders.
You could have the real Erik and real Raoul be the coaches and the rest be the players. Would that not be weird?
Just a crazy thought I figured I'd share.

I spent a huge chunk of time beginning to make a POTO folder for my new MP3 player last night. Not to mention the fact that every song in this folder absolutely has to be in the same order they would be in if they were on my POTO CD's. Moreover, when I went to test the folder to make sure it worked, I got very annoyed. I was thinking that the songs in the POTO folder I had worked so hard to start making somehow didn't get placed into the order I'd wanted them in. However, when I went to examine the folder more closely this morning, I discovered they really were in the right order. I'm very, very relieved to see that, because it means I don't have to edit the folder. :spin2:

This isn't all that crazy, but I find it amusing.
I recently introduced a fellow phan to the idea of replacing the letter f with ph, and so we've been having IM conversations in that style lately (and speaking that way to some extent, things like "that fails with a ph"). We got our yearbooks yesterday and signed each other's using ph's, and the page she took is covered in white-out because she kept forgetting the ph's in "of" and "for".
Today was also her sweet sixteen and the card I gave her was filled with ph's. And we broke out in Notes in the middle of the party. XP

I'm so going to be laughed at for this, but this story has to be told. hehe I currently work at a movie theatre in town. It was Halloween the year Phantom was to come out so I decided to dress up as the Phantom in order to promote the film a bit. ( that's right. I'm a Phan. I promote. = ) ) Anyway, A co worker said to me: Hey I dare you to go to the end of the hallway, run up the hall, jump on one of the benches by the way, twirl the cape, jump off the bench, then run down the rest of the hall.
Did I do this?
Lets just say I'm glad its not on youtube. LOL I believe one of the managers at the time got it on video. I must say, I think a few customers and co workers were shocked that I actually did this. Well, I wanted to leave a legacy there and well, there it is.

My bed has two pillows, and I don't sleep on one of them. The extra pillow is used for displaying different things (depending on what I'm into at the time). Last night, I took whatever had been there and put it somewhere else - only to put my white half-mask and the fake red rose given to me by my mom on the pillow instead. The only thing is, my rose isn't tied with black ribbon - yet. I'm working on buying a small spool of black ribbon so I can use some of it for the stem of the rose.

Well, the Phantom Of The Opera was present in the most important day of my life. Yes, as part of the wedding party I dressed up as the Phantom and surprisely sang ALL I ASK OF YOU to my loved bride. It was a great moment and she loved. It was played alive with my Hard Rock band. We had several reharsals just to do it, and played a rock version of the song. As introduction, a short part of the latest movie was played on the screen behind the drums. I hope you enjoy the pictures and get a bit of the atmosphere there.

I plan on being the Phantom for Halloween this year; coincidentally, my boyfriend, who has been my best friend since elementary school, is named Erik. So if his anime club holds a Halloween dance this year, Erik will be dancing with Erik. XD Hey, he knows I'm crazy. I love him, and I hope he won't feel too weirded out by my choice of costume. I was Gargamel last year, so I don't think he'll mind.
I bought a Phantom mask at a Broadway giftshop across the street from the Majestic after watching the show, and my sister teased me a little(what are sisters for?), asking if I was going have Erik dress as Erik (I would never make him do anything like that unless he wanted to).
I don't want to associate my boyfriend with the Phantom, though. My Erik is more of a Raoul than a Phantom. I knew him long before I even learned the Phantom's name (when I did learn his name, I couldn't help but chuckle at the coincidence).

Recently, I was watching a Dr. Seuss dvd I'd bought just for the heck of it, and there was a part in a cartoon called "The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat," where a chandelier swings wildly and falls and the first thing out of my mouth upon seeing that was, "The Phantom's in league with the Grinch! I knew it!"
Kind of wierd, huh?
Then again, any unexplained chandlier crashing in something I watch has to be connected to Erik.
Has anyone else seen this?

Actually Jennifer, me and my friends Alyssa and Kara were bored, because it was pouring out, one day, so we started playing this game...a version of Clue, called Clue: Mysteries. It's where you pick a number, and it tells you a mystery you have to solve...kinda a complicated board game to explain, but anyway...Kara told me two pick a number, so I picked 5. Yay box five! And the mystery was about Mrs. Peacock being in an Opera House and the chandelier fell and almost killed her. I was so happy. (:

At my old high school we have actual "Juliet" balconies over the audience that over look onto the stage. We generally don't use them for shows because they are quite difficult to access, but we use them mainly for storage. We were doing strike after a shows final run and we were hauling stuff up into the Juliet's. My friend (who is a fellow phan) just turns to me and goes "I wonder which one is box 5...." Then we started going on this rant about how if we left a note in the Juliet we claimed as box 5, would we get a mysterious note signed "O.G." and how it would be requesting that I take her place (since I was actually her understudy for the show)...it was funny...to us...we got weird looks.

Ooo, when I was dancing I remember that we had a dancer to the Nightwish version of Phantom along with a few other edited songs mixed into it. It was a few songs overlaying each other so back stage we would change our shoes to a different form or dance. It was a Broadway night. So the first song was Nightwish's (Modern), Middle music with a few solos, then it flowed into All I Ask of You into Music of the Night (half and half of Pointe--which I did--and ballet aka demi-pointe) The funny thing was in the middle of MotN there was a part that was EXACTLY the slowed version of Il Muto's ballet. I swear!!

I was recently in DC at the National Art Museum. The museum has really great architecture and as I was walking into the main room, I exclaimed "Oh my god! Erik would SO approve of this!" I had definitely meant to keep that in my head...the security lady shushed me.
Oh and today, I was in Micheal's searching for a frame for my Phantom poster. I was getting really frustrated because I couldn't find the right size, so I thought that singing may bring it to me. Just a tip: running through Michael's singing "I am your angel of music; come to me angel of music" might get you some extremely odd looks! :D hahahaha!

It's even inspired me to make a website about the Phantom costume and me going to places together.
