Mactabilis Venia

His grace.

His charm.

Even his god darned eyes.

Every single element draws me to him.

Irresistible.

Seductive.

Horrible.

Part of me has always wondered whether or not he is human.

For no human has ever possessed such…appeal.

Such elegance.

As far as I know, no human has ever boasted a voice like his.

And as far as I know, no human has ever had such a horror for a face.

They say he is the Devil’s Spawn.

Yet his voice echoes like the Angels in Heaven.

They say his genius was brought from Satan.

Yet his master pieces can put the Pearl Gates to shame.

Ah, they talk of him.

But do they know him?

Do I know him?

No.

I will not pretend to say I know more than the barest surface knowledge about him.

But I cannot lie and say I have no interest.

For this man is an enigma.

A terrible, horrifying, mystery, but a mystery nonetheless.

And he’s a mystery I’m determined to solve.

For none I have seen in my life can hold such deadly grace.
