It's a class story that's amazing! Scarlet O'Hara is one awesome actress.
I say it's amazing that the two of them could act so much in love, but on set when the camera wasn't roll they hated each other. I've seen a cast of people that just really hated each other and then on set they were the 'best' of friends.

I love old movies. I adore them! I could watch them old day and never get bored. But I didn't like this movie. I loved Rhett Butler, but I could NOT stand Scarlett O'hara. She pissed me off so much! I was so glad when Rhett walke dout on her and said "frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!" I cheered and cheered and then cheered some more. And the stereotpyes made me itch.
My friend's great grandfather was in that movie. He played the Union soldier that Scarlett kills. That was my second favorite part of the whole film!

I have never managed to catch the begining of Gone With The Wind... I just finished the book and loved it. After reading the book, I love the movie even more.
I almost feel sorry for Scarlett, even though she brings it all upon herself... And Rhett was completely right to leave her, but I hate to see such a great couple, to see true love just fall apart... They're meant for each other, but Scarlett's too blind to see it.
Did anyone else completely dislike Ashley? He just got in the way from the very begining... And he's completely useless in the book...
I love Melly, though! She was so quietly strong, and no one really recognized her for it... She was an amazing character.
I really loved this movie, but I can't seem to find a copy anywhere... Hopefully our little rental place has it, then maybe I can *cough*illegally*cough* burn it to a DVD...

And yes Ashley...yuck! he's weird. I have the DVD and VHS because my mom was a complete sappppp!!!! and guess what, it rubs in the family (haha pun!) Anywho, I really love the character transition for Scarlett...yea
This is one interesting movie.

I LOVE this movie. I read the book when I was fourteen at a family reunion, it took me a week and then when I got home I bought the movie off of amazon and made a night out of it. I love the characters and the history mixed with the fiction hooks you to the book. I will admit I did have a hard time getting through the first chapter or two in the book but once things got going I couldn't put it down.. I found myself holding my breath for Scarlett/Rhett interactions...
Here's a fun fact: My uncle Scott's middle name is Ashley... haha can anyone guess why?

I tell you when you add history, romance, a war, a changed southern girl meeting this mysterious man that she eventually falls in love with (and when the actors hate each other) ;) you got yourself one HOT movie!

Gone with the Wind is the greatest movie ever made. Seriouslly. Not only is the acting superb, but the color and filmography is superior, even for today. I mean, those sunset shots? Gorgeous! Viven Leigh and Clark Gable also had tremendous chemistry.
I've been watching this movie ever since I was a little girl and I guess you can say that I'm pretty much obsessed with it. Not as much as Phantom though...
