View Full Version : Second Characters

I know that there have been many questions before about second characters in RP, but I just want to get my facts straight for future referance.
I know that we're supposed to PM a moderator if we want to create another character, but are we supposed to PM the profile so it can be approved or are we just supposed to say that we want another character? Adding to that, who exactly are we supposed to PM now? I know that a couple of mods have stepped down recently so I don't want to PM an inactive account.
Sorry if this has been asked before and I know how incompetent I sound now. :biglaugh: I pend anyone's response.

You PM the entire profile and they will approve of it.To any Moderator. Soo ummm that's Erika, James, Isabelle, etc. Anyone who is on the board and is not J, Hollie, or Christine.
I think you could inquire about a second character first and then save your AI and then make your profile, but I don't really think the order counts. well the AI thing comes after you clarify with a Mod.
Then a 3rd character is approved by a Admin (J, Hollie, Christine)
Hope that helps :)

Ding Ding... give the woman a prize for hitting the nail on the head. Very well done m'dear. The only thing I will add is that you can PM secondary profiles to admins (but not third characters to moderators). But we generally prefer that moderators get secondaries...
and if you need usernames to make it a bit more helpful:
Chirstine's Shadow, Madamemoislle de Masquerade, IamErik77, and Isabella Delancy
Daroga, Raoul du Chagny, and Ubaldo Piangi

Merci to the both of you *hands Patrica a lovely prize of her choice*. That puts my mind very much at ease. I've been conjuring up a character for a while now but I've never had the ambition to use it until recently. I might as well PM it to you, J, since you were so promt to answer. Thanks again, guys. :lips:

Okay just to clear this up a little more as I am wanting to know this myself.
I know that any member can have up to three active characters at a time and if they want to bring in a new one they have to take out one of the three character that they already had.
Does that make sense?
Anyway to whom to we send our bio's to then in we want a 'fourth' character an admin or anyone of staff?

I didn't heard this from a Admin or anyone but there only a three character limit. If you take one off board (not listed in your profile) you can save the one you took down for later use. I don't think that it goes into the archived characters, but it is considered a character that is not on the RP grounds.
I think you can have x > 3 amount of AIs....but! That could be a lie. Nevertheless, due to the tucking away of a character it would only make sense to keep that character's AI (and not archive and then bring it back again and again) and bring it back into use when the member so chooses to bring back that certain character. I hope that made sense.

Keep in mind that there is a new "Six Months" rule...you can have up to three active characters (and interchange them with new ones) but you can only submit one new profile for a new character every six months. It is meant to cut back on the use of AI's. If we are constantly creating new characters then it severely limits the AI choices.

So true Lori! Good catch! *virtual five!* Awkward.
As a question that has been on my mind. What is the limit of AI Characters one member can reserve?

The answer is 5. One for each active character and then whatever is left (at least I think that is how it is stated in the AI Thread (http://kproxy.com/servlet/redirect.srv/sruj/sjbpbb-hcflgucl/p1/showthread.php?t=1083)). Try and keep it at a minimum, though because that too severely limits the AI choice. We don't want people reserving AI's and then never using them...that just isn't fair to everyone else.
Message to all: Please do not reserve AI's strictly on a whim. In other words, don't reserve AI's just to have them as a "just in case" kind of thing. Please have a specific character in mind and don't reserve AI's you aren't settled on.

Well you actually can't reserve an AI and not use it, because there is a time limit on how long they can be on reserve. Currently i think the limit is three months (not certian though would have to double check) but if you end up reserving alot and not using them on a regular basis you mind find yourself disallowed from reserving at all and will just have to take your chances until your characters profile is posted.
