Just wondered what types of things people own of any thing Phantom of the opera. I have the dvd for the movie, as well as the soundtrack, a shirt, a snow globe of the Phantom and Christine form the play as well as a statue of the phantom form the play on his throne, both play music of the night, the original novel, a rose with a black ribbon (It's a fake rose, bf got it for me when we went as Phantom and Christine to a ball), have a ring that looks just like the one form the movie (does not fit :( tough it was my ring size), and Christine's masquerade dress form the movie which I made.

I'm not going to count programs and Playbills because I've got stacks of those, many autographed. Or recordings because I'm too lazy to count those, too.

But the highlights of my little collection...

Beads from the Broadway chandelier
Ivy from the Daae tomb set on Broadway
The Phantom's green quill pen from Broadway
One of the white shirts worn by Mark Jacoby as The Phantom - it's been signed by the entire cast from that year
My leather jacket signed by Hugh Panaro after his final performance as The Phantom
My Phantom BC/EFA pin
A bottle of Phantom perfume from the late 1980s

Right with ya there... You are all lucky little..! Phantoms and... Christines and.. Raouls..!

Seriously not even for a 1000? How much do you guys want for your phantom stuff? Start highest price at all the money I have. Or my piano? My TV? MY HOUSE (that doesn't include the food...)?

But really, you guys are quite lucky to have such things. Wish i could be so fortunate--maybe one day! But to those of you who have signed playbills.. How did you get that? Is there a pass or something to be able to go meet the actors? Did they sell it? What?

I got my tattoo today! It didn't really hurt, like I thought it would. I love it! I would post a picture of it, but I'm not too sure how to do that in the message. Right now, it's my profile pic. :)

Oh thats a nice tattoo. I am too wimpy to get a real tattoo. I'd also get in huge trouble with my parents... And all you have to do is either upload it to photobucket/tinypic/anything that hosts photos really and post a link or go advanced during a post then click "manage attachments" and you click "browse" then upload the picture and it'll appear once you post.

Also if this counts I am adding to my list:
Emmy Rossum's Inside Out Album
The Phantom of the Opera soundtrack downloaded to my computer (ha ha... ran out of money...)

LOL. And, just take your playbill to the Stage Door, and wait for them to come out, then ask for them to sign it. :) That simple...XD

And, MllePaula, HOW DO YOU GET THE PROPS!?!?!?! :O lucky.

Who was your first Phantom? It might not be impossible after all.

And, MllePaula, HOW DO YOU GET THE PROPS!?!?!?! :O lucky.

Most came from the wonderful Broadway Cares Flea Market held in NYC every September. Phantom always has one of the most popular tables there...with some awesome things.

My first phantom was John Cudia.

The main reason why I sya it's impossible though is because by the time I get there--well even when I get there I still have to set up the internet and settle in (yeah my parents are trying to move to New York)--and if we go by car since I have two puppies it'll take at least 3 days.

And I am not sure how long John Cudia has beeen in buisiness for almost every person my mother's talked about form broadway went away pretty quick--though I am not the expert on how long people stay acting on the stage.

You can write to John at the Majestic Theatre and ask him for his autograph. If you have a Playbill, you can send him that...though often the actors will send a signed Playbill or signed photo if you don't have one and ask. Just make sure to include a return envelope with your address and enough postage.

Let me know if you want the Majestic's address.

John has been with Phantom a while. He was Raoul back when I first him in 2005, did the tour for a while, and is now the lead with the Broadway company. He'll probably stay with the show a bit...a lot of the Broadway leads do. Howard McGillin played the Phantom from 1999 to 2003 and then from 2005 until last year. Hugh stayed a few years, too...from 2003 to 2005.

Some have had shorter runs, but long runs aren't too unusual at all.

ETA - Even if John left before you had a chance to write, the theatre will usually forward actors' mail to them.

Let's see... I own:

- Almost all the official cast recordings from the ALW version... I think the only one I'm missing now is the highlights album from the Basel, Switzerland production.

- The original cast albums from the musicals by Ken Hill, Yeston & Kopit, and Ivan Jacobs (respectively).

- A Playbill and souvenir brochure from the US Tour production, bought when I saw it in San Francisco last January -- John Cudia as the Phantom, Trista Moldovan/Kelly Jeanne Grant as Christine (I saw it with Kelly), and Kyle Barisich as Raoul. And I got the Playbill signed by D.C. Anderson (who played André) as well, after he gave me and my friends a backstage tour.

- Two other souvenir programmes I found at a book sale -- one from the original Toronto production (Colm Wilkinson as the Phantom, Rebecca Caine as Christine, Susan Cuthbert as the Christine alternate, and Byron Nease as Raoul), and the other from the Canadian Tour (Jeff Hyslop as the Phantom, Patti Cohenour as Christine, June Crowley as the Christine alternate, and David Rogers as Raoul).

- Soundtracks from the 1925, 1989, 1998, and 2004 film versions as well as the 1990 miniseries.

- DVDs of the 1929 re-edit of the 1925 film (recorded from TV), the 1989 film, the 1990 miniseries, the stage production by Lawrence Rosen and Paul Schierhorn (David Staller as Erik), and the 2004 film.

- 2 paperback copies of Leroux's novel -- one translated by Alexander de Mattos, the other by Lowell Bair.

- Susan Kay's Phantom (paperback).

- 2 copies of George Perry's "Complete Phantom of the Opera" (one of which I'll be giving as a gift for someone very soon).

- Craig Schulman's solo album "On Broadway," autographed by Mr. Schulman himself.

- Signed programs from the "Three Phantoms" concerts held in Hawaii with Craig Schulman, Cris Groenendaal, and Kevin Gray.

- Sheet music from the ALW, Ken Hill, and Y&K musical versions.

I think that's about it, but if I think of (or acquire) any more, I'll be sure to add to this list.
