Hey Everyone,

I was at Best Buy today and to my surprise, the orginal Phantom movie, with Lon Chaney, is out on DVD for $5.99.

I was also surprised to see the Claude Raines version also on DVD for &12.99. I hope that someone can move this thread to it's rightful place as I have know idea how to do it.

If anyone on this website has any info with regard to all of the above, please email me. Thanks. I will try and add/revise this thread in the future.

Whoa, really? The only one I've seen at Best Buy is the one with Robert Englund... And that cost $9.99, just in case you wanted to know.

I think I'll look there sometime now. XD $5.99's a great price for that movie...

Wow, that's an extraordinary bargain! I can't find a copy anywhere for less than $10. I'd buy it quickly if I were you. :D

And yeah, this thread is in the wrong section. Opera Ghost, since you are in charge of this section, do you want to do it? Or should I?

If you want to "do it" (laugh laugh) go ahead. I wish I knew how to move stuff around.

Thanks so much,

Michael

My mom bought it on a DVD called "Horror Classics" or something. Three old horror movies for $10, I think. I have no idea what store it was, but the store was in the Mall of America. Ha, like that helps... :)

I just found the movie at Best Buy yesterday! Thank you for telling me where to find it because I love the movie :D It's just like the original novel which is great. The price is very cheap and you can also find it at amazon.com. Bye for Now.

Much Love :mask:

Sorry, I hadn't noticed your post. I presume you have already moved it, as there current place is correct. Thank you :)

brooklyn - please post messages of more context and meaning. For example, "I like the 2004 Phantom version because..." Your above post is considered spam and is also off topic as it is nothing to do with the Lon Chaney DVD.

Ah! I found the Lon Chaney version at Best Buy for the same price! I got it for my friend who is the biggest Phan on earth. X3

I watched the first half of it, but had to stop. @_@ The camera shook so much that it made me motion sick. I'm going to try to finish it next time.

Back in March, Suncoast Pictures was having a going out of Business sale and my husband found for me The Ultimate Edition, 2 DVD set of Lon Chaney's "The Phantom of the Opera".

It Has on it the 1929 restored version featuring 2 soundtracks on disc one, with the Bal Masque scene in technicolor and the Apollo's Lyre scene in the Handschiegl color process, with the tinted 2 color technicolor on all other scenes, with:
Stereo Ochestral Score by Carl Davis and the original 1930 Soundtrackedited to fit the picture. Audio commentary by film historian Scott MacQueen, 1925 & 1930 Theatrical trailers, Stills Gallery featuring Deleted & Missing scenes and a Bonus audio feature: Selections of Dialogue Sequences from the 1930 Version not found in the restored version.

Then the 1925 Original Feature Version with score by Jon Mirsalis, on Disc two, with:
"Carla Laemmle Remembers", a video Interview with David Skal, Faust Opera Extract from the 1929 Tiffany Sound feature Midstream, Bonus Audio-only Feature: Cinematographer Charles Van Enger Interview.

He gave it to me for our anniversary. :D

We got it cheap because everything was going for 50-75% off for liquidation, I think we paid 10 bucks or less....
