I’m a new fan to Green Day but I have to say I love most of their music. I got started with their new song “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” that they came out with recently. I can find myself singing in on and on; too bad the song isn’t longer than it is! Discussion on the band is held here.

I'm a big fan of greenday and have been ever since I can remember. American Idiot is without a doubt the best of their albums so far, and I can't get enough of it.

It's a totally different approach to making an album, as each and every song has an allusion to another on the same album which was, in my opinion, a clever idea.

My favourite song on the album is Jesus of Suburbia - it's the second longest on the album and I think it's the best one.

I've only heard a few pieces of that song, when I was previewing the CD on the store shelves a few weeks ago. Does anyone know which CD contains 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams'? I want to get that CD but can't seem to find it through the massive piles of Green Day CD's the music store has.

You should get the album, it's BRILLIANT.

Lol, anyway. It's really good, and you won't want to listen to anthing else!

I love Green Day! I only have two of their cds: International Super Hits and American Idiot.

I saw them in concert November 17 and the show was AMAZING. It was the best concert I have ever been to.

I really like how they don't care what anyone else thinks, they'll do whatever they feel like doing no matter what. It's awesome.

I finally found the CD in the store the other day. I'm glad they restocked since most of the time I can't find American Idiot at all. I've got to save up the money for it, though I've got some right now. I'm iffy about spending money that is for my absolute needs.

Heh Daniel I think you made your point. ;)

I like Green Day, I do not own any of their CDs but from all the songs that I have heard by them I have liked. Even though Boulevard of Broken Dreams is one of the songs i do not want ot hear for a long time due to the fact it is always on the radio, I am sure i will like it again soon ;). I love Good Riddance though.. makes me sad...

Boulevard of Broken Dreams is always on the radio here as well. Every morning going to school my favorite station plays it at least once, then in the afternoons its played a few times (and at least twice a week the song is on the Top Three at Three, most music requested for the day). Almost don't need a CD with all that. ;)

I LOVE Greenday!!! I went to the concert LAST NIGHT! Wow! It was AWESOME! They have pyro and confetti and stuff like that... It was so loud my ears were ringing afterword and we screamed so much that I couldn't go to my voice class today. I LOVE the songs... American Idiot, Boulavard of Broken Dreams, When September Ends, Good Riddence & Jesus of Suburbia! I also liked how they did the songs Shout! and We are the Champions at the concert!

It sounds like you had a really good time! I haven't had a chance to go to any concerts by the band at the moment. I'm stuck listening to their music and singing my heart out, lol. What else happened there? :D

They said that this concert was the best tour of theirs yet. They are opened by My Chemical Romance. Let's see... I couldn't go down to the floor beacuse my friend's parents wouldn't let us but my other friend did and she was in a Mosh Pit and she got all the way up to the front and she bodysurfed. But let's see at the concert Billie Joe invited one kid onto stage to squirt everyone with a watergun and they also brought up 3 kids from the audience (a drummer, a bass and a guitarist.) THe guitarist got to keep the one he used. -sigh- He's so lucky!

It does sound like they were really lucky! I would probably never body surf at any rock concert in my life in fear that they would drop me and squish me down to the ground, lol. I wouldn't mind going up to the front of the stage though and listening, if I wanted to lose my hearing. :D

Don't worry, you're not alone, Night feather. I personally think they're overrated... o_o; And overplayed.

At my school, there are tons of Green Day fans. They wear their shirts, their hoodies, hats, etc. And I don't need to bother with the CD because 95% of the rock fans I know own it. ._.;

Luckily there are no one of that kind on my school. They only have the cd, and walk around and hum the tunes, tehy don't walk aroudn in Green Day clothes.

I just wear my shirt from the concert like, every few weeks. I don't wear it like everyday. We were going to do the song 'Good Riddence' for our 8th Grade Graduation but insted we're doing 'Graduation' by Vitiman C. I still love Greeday but yes I agree they are over played even though I love them!

I'm not the person to fall in love with the people in the band but rather like the way their music sounds. I'm not obsessed with Billie Joe or any one else from the band lol. You can say that I'm a good fan of their music but it has that rocky feel to it. :D

I've only heard one of their songs - "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" although I may have heard others but not known who they're sung by. "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" is good! The lyrics are sad though.."I walk a lonely road / the only one that I have ever known / Don't know where it goes /
But it's home to me and I walk alone...

Aww, I know exactly what you mean. Some of my favorite songs by Green day are American Idiot, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and On Holiday. On Holiday is really easy to "rock" to in the car if you're playing it on a CD or listening to it come on the radio.

I've had that song stuck in my head since I heard it yesterday. Found it on my older sis' playlist on the music player on the computer. It's really good. I can relate to the lyrics too - I often feel like my shadows the only one with me... the lyrics are beautiful, though sad.

You're definitely right Em. The lyrics are beautiful with that dark tinge to them. I was at a friend's house today and we got the chance to "rock out" in his music room. I did vocals and the electronic drum set for a little. Lol, we started playing the first part of "Holiday" and I attempted to immitate the drum feature at the beginning. It was hilarious. ;)

Green Day is my favorite band in the entire world, surprising, isn't it? I became a fan around 2000, when Warning hit stores, and then International Superhits. American Idiot is a good album, no doubt, but Insomniac will always have favoritism on my part. I just love Billie Joe's voice and the guitar distortion on this album, the drums on it are amazing as well. I'm listening to Geek Stink Breath as I type, actually. It's nice to see there are other Green Day/Phantom fans out there. :)

I have also become a recent fan of Greenday. I have always heard songs by them growing up and thought they were good, but this year they really stepped out into the spotlight! I love all their recent music videos and songs! I need to go out and buy their cd soon! I can't wait to see what songs they put on their next album.

I have all of their CD's apart from a few. I hunt the CD's down in Music Stores and Amazon. You've got to love Green Day. That's including you, Mother!

Carol, i've seen the Wake Me Up When Semptember Ends video. They don't seem to play it all the way through with the cool beginning part, anymore, do they? I only saw it with the part at the beginning and the rest of the video once.

I'm a Green Day fan, as well. I have their new CD, 21st Century Breakdown, as of yesterday. The music on it is very similar to the CD called American Idiot (which I also own). I think my favorite songs from the new CD are Know Your Enemy, the title track, and Viva La Gloria.

I only started off from these guys with the song "Wake me Up When September Ends"

Story time:
When I was a little girl--not really--my cousin collected her songs and wrote them down in her CD logs. She didn't know the real name so she wrote Wake Me Up. And it reminded me of Evanescence so I listed to the CD number and code and heard something complete different. Thus my beginning with Green day. I haven't listened to them lately, but you know time after time I get to find a CD around in the house. Sooo...

Good choice! Wake Me Up When September Ends is beautiful yet sad, and I have somewhat of a love/hate relationship with it. There was a time when I wouldn't even listen to the song for some reason, but now...I really like the song. I'd also like to suggest that you listen to the following Green Day songs: Holiday, Minority, Scattered, Hitchin' a Ride, The Grouch, and Know Your Enemy. You can probably find them someplace like iTunes or LimeWire, if that helps.
