Ive actually performed in a rendition of Annie made for middle school students, way back when I was in 8th grade almost four years ago. Ive seen the movie and Ive had to sing the songs, lol, so what do you all think of this fairly decent show? I tried out for the part of Daddy Warbucks but got stuck with President Roosevelt. x.x

I saw this show, a loooonnng time ago, when i was really little. I don't remember much, except that I really reallly enjoyed it! What was it like performing in? I like the songs in it... I would really like to see it again. Our local production group performed it.. maybe they will do it again.

I've never been to a stage show before in my life... *sad look* I have seen this movie, but I doubt it's anywhere NEAR as amazing as the stage show would be... Am I right?

Performing in it was really nice, but I can't really remember being precise about my notes. I remember singing the New York song, with the cast moving in belt lines... but I think I was a bit out of tune. I used to be able to sing très bien in 7th grade but then my voice began to gradually drop, then drastically after 9th grade. I've yet to find my proper singing voice.

Movies are never as good as on stage. I've seen movies of Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Hello Dolly, Wizard of Oz, Oliver, and many many others, all of which I have seen on stage too. STage is always better. except that hello Dolly has Michael Crawford (i heart michael crawford!) and of course the stage show didn't. :D
anyway, I haven't seen the movie of Annie, but I'm sure the stage show would be better.

When I was about seven or so I went to go see Annie on some theater, it was very good if I don't say so myself. They did all the good songs right and didn't mess up as much as I heard they did on the first show. Well I say that they got the first show shivers and that's why they messed up a little. Nevertheless I thought it was awesome all the same.

This has got to be one of the best musical's i've ever seen (i've seen very few, so ya...) but i loved it. My school TRIED a remake of it, and the girl in lead wasn't good. At all. I didn't try out because i'm not a good singer. It wasn't good, and it made me wish i had tried out.

I have sadly never seen this on stage, but I have seen it on the television screen/movie screen. I do love the songs, and my choir performed "You're never fully dressed without a smile." for a whole audience ( I love that song, because it is true! You're never fully dressed without a smile. SMILE BABY SMILE!). Er, yeah. I'd love to do a remake of it at my school but we haven't.

I love Annie, but it's hard to say whether I liked it better onstage or on DVD. I know I can definitely say that I'm not a huge fan of the Carol Burnett/Albert Finney version, and that I far prefer the Kathy Bates as Miss Hannigan/Victor Garber as Daddy Warbucks (<3's Victor! :)) version. It's just better.
But onstage, it's certainly adorable, and the little girl I saw as Annie was truly talented - I was blown away by her voice, as well as the other Orphans. It was great to see such talented little girls.
I'd love to play Grace one day, and my favorite songs are "NYC," "Something Was Missing," and of course, "Tomorrow."

Every time I see the film version, I want to scream at the camera, "Back off! Give them some room!" The venerable director has done amazing work, but he dropped the ball on this one! There are some wonderful numbers, but instead of pulling back so that they have the whole screen to sing and dance in, they're forced into these tight shots. Still, I will watch it just to see Geoffrey Holder, and I like the "Let's Go to the Movies" number.
I heard "Annie" before seeing it, and most of the songs sparkle and are quite memorable. I've encountered musicals in which there isn't a single stand-out song. "Annie" certainly isn't that!
I don't recall seeing the TV version, and I've never seen it on stage. I think the stage might be the best way to experience it.

I liked it. At my talent show, a group of girls did a mini Annie play. It was pretty good. I liked how daddy warbucks was kind and genorus but a grouch at first. The movie made me laugh when Annie out-witted the orphange manager, and I loved the plot line. I agree with you, Cyn, about how the director was so close and up by thier faces the entire time.

I loved the movie. Though I have never seen the musical. What was that little girl's name from that last movie remake?

Our local theatre put on a production of this last summer and I was going to try out for either Annie or one of the orphans, but again, missed the audition dates. I went to a Sunday matinee performance and it was great! Of course, I knew the girl playing Annie personally. I have also seen both movie versions and think they are both great!

My school has done this before (before I was able to walk at least) and I heard that they did amazing. I saw a few videos and dang the girl that played Annie has adorable hair!
I saw this in Broadway one year in NYC and it was phenomenal! I was hooked. I love the character of Pepper because well you know reminds me of my friends. The annie that played...gosh I can't remember her name but of course she was amazing. It's a Hard Knock Life is still my favorite!
