I thought I'd start a thread for PTO-related poems. I've only written a couple myself, but it's fun to read others' poems! :) Here is one of mine:

"Dark Angel"
Death is his avatar,
Torture is his game
You fear him, run from him
And softly he calls your name

Oh, how he haunts you,
How his voice resounds in your head
In vain you try to escape him,
But you run into his trap instead

His darkness shall overpower
And stake its claim on you
His music shall take possession
No matter what you do

The last flickering flame
Gives a sigh and dies
You can feel his cold breath on your skin, now
And the fear begins to rise

But his voice-- oh, his voice!
It sings to you like an angel
It melts away all resistance
And once again, you are under his spell

Once again, he gives your spirit wings
Once again, you succumb to his allure
And he's holding you so gently, now
You can hardly believe he's a killer

That is a very nice piece of poetry you have written; its very deep and has a nice dark setting. People can feel free to start a new thread for each piece of their poetry. If posting poetry becomes popular enough I'll create a subforum for it.

Haha...it's amusing, I just got a PM on another site about ideas for Phantom poetry (even though I've never written any). And now I come here, and there's a thread about it! I love the smell of irony in the morning... (you'd probably only get that if you've read Phantom in 15 Minutes).

This person was asking for advice on a line of poetry to use for a wallpaper based on Christine's thoughts on Erik after she leaves him, and I gave her this...

"My voice, forever silenced.
My soul, forever yearning.
My heart, forever yours."

::Shrugs:: I know it's not too good...but it was one of those 'off the top of my head' things...

That's lovely! Perfect.

And to The Phantom: Thanks for the compliment^_^

Here is the other poem:

"Forgive Me"
Here I am,
Cadaverous, flawed, distorted
A devil among demons
A monster among men

Here you are,
Pale, radiant, lovely
A rose among briars
A goddess among mortals

Forgive me,
If I fall at your feet
And weep with pain and love
Forgive me,
If my despairing darkness
Should stifle your heavenly light

Here you are,
Angry, raging, rebellious
A pretty bird caught in my cage
A naive child ensnared in my deception

Here I am,
Humble, lamenting, repenting
A piteous beast who longs for you
A sniveling hound ready to die for you

Forgive me,
If my touch should frighten you
Or chill you to the bone
Forgive me,
If I should invoke your sweet tears
As I worship the hem of your dress

If you want to leave,
I understand
I shall not keep you prisoner
But, oh!if you could save me--

Then here we are,
Surrendered, defenseless, silent...

I may not be your Angel of Music, but you--
You have always been mine

You are truly wonderful at writing, heheh. I used to write poetry all the time but I got out of the swing of things. I'm a fairly good writer, though making thoughts come out clear and smooth, one after the other gets hard for me.

Thanks^_^ I know what you mean. I get stuck a lot. I couldn't do anything for the longest time, but after seeing PTO I started writing again. :D

The Phantom of the Opera is really emotional and strong in its context, so no wonder you got the inspiration to write the poetry again. It pulls into everyone one of the your senses to make you emotional, weak, and teary eyed at the same time. I know I write my best work when I'm emotional, heh.

Hey, those poems are brilliant! Marguerite, you're a very good writer. I used to write poetry, but for months I've not written any. Even when I did, it wasn't very good, and I never got very good inspiration. I sometimes came up with a line in the middle of the night, jump out of bed, and start writing frantically by torchlight before I forgot it!

lol! I've done the same thing. But usually I just get a certain word or phrase stuck in my head and it stays nestled in my brain (or heart?) for a little while, until I finally sit down and build something around it. ^_^

Marguerite, you are an AMAZING writer! I write fanfiction and some poetry, but I haven't tried my hand at POTO poetry... Hmm, might be my next project! Thanks for the inspiration!!!

The Promise
by Melissa T.

(This is a poem about if Christine stayed with Erik)

Your face soft, yet deformed, won't shun me

Your eyes kind, yet red, won't frighten me

Your voice like an angel's song, will tell me to be with you, forever, my angel of music..................

Lovely, though I wish it would continue, for, in its present form, it seems only the beginning of a poem-- like it should elaborate. But that's just my opinion. ^_^

Thank you, i wish I knew how to conitue it though.

Hmmm... Perhaps you could take each line and make it the first line of its own stanza? (hope that sentence made sense)

Or, you could write (still in Christine's pov) about how she endured a lot of pain and loss until she happened upon Erik, and make those three lines the last stanza. Or something like that...

Mayhap one of those suggestions will help? ^_^

I'll see what I can come up with ^^

Very cool; I like how it's left open for interpretation....

And it's not every day you meet an Erik/Meg shipper ^_^
