Appearance: 5'9"; slender, wiry build; fair to medium skin, depending on how much time he has spent in seclusion; forest green eyes, quite mesmerizing, especially due to his tendency to make steady eye contact when in a conversation; dark brown hair, straight, shoulder-length but sometimes longer, generally a bit shaggy until he decides it is time to do something about it; generally wears casualwear (jeans, jackets, whatever shirt catches his fancy) and rarely wears formal attire (a tie? never!); depending on clothing, can look younger than he is.

Orientation: bisexual but definitely not promiscuous; extremely selective about intimacy; casual caresses--extremely rare.

Occupation: best-selling author/lecturer whose science fiction/fantasy series (three trilogies at this point in time) have been exceedingly successful; also creates "coffeetable books" featuring his photographs and commentary. Presently, Raven is in Paris to research Opera Populaire--its history, restoration, the people on stage and behind the scenes, and especially the "legend" of the Phantom; he will be interviewing and photographing many of those around the Opera House.

History: Raven guards his personal life zealously, releasing as little information as possible. If I am fortunate, he will allow me to relate details. Most authorities agree that he was born. (No. I didn't leave any words out! LOL!) There is speculation as to the New England area, given his obsession with E.A. Poe. However, his home is The Rookery, an estate on the California coast, in the vicinity of San Francisco. Seen in the company of Anthea Nightshade, restaurateur and owner of Belladonna art gallery, there has been much speculation about a relationship though both insist they are "just friends". Raven's only constant companion is his valet/assistant, whose history is as mysterious as his employer's. Raven is excellently educated, having studied abroad and having earned a number of degrees. He collects Poe memorabilia and rare volumes.

Personality: rather brooding, generally overly serious and very reclusive except when he is researching a new book; rarely smiles but, when he does, seems to charm the recipient; blunt but can manage tact occasionally; stickler for details; drinks but is never drunk-- the type who, when attending a party, seeks out a corner to watch other guests; rarely indulges in flirtation, merely polite "small talk".

So far, Raven has encountered only two people:

Miguel (Juan) de Silva has introduced himself as a reporter to Raven at the second anniversary gala. Their meeting has not progressed yet, so it's difficult to say what might happen.

While shopping on the Champs Elysees, Raven was approached by Veena Roux. Being his usual suspicious self, Raven hasn't been the friendliest person--not that he ever is. Will Veena make a dent on this admittedly stubbornly reclusive writer?

Will Raven make any sort of impression on the opera patrons? When will his real research get underway, and who will he encounter?

While Raven's initial meeting with Miguel/Juan did not progress as expected, Raven has gone on to meet a number of people connected with the opera house. Not all meetings went well, as Raven can be a prickly personality at times, as Klara McNamara discovered when she crossed paths with the author at the Eiffel Tower.

Raven continues using the name Alexander Tyrrell with most people he has met, and he'll have to reintroduce himself at a future meeting. He'll likely learn that his name is not noted in all circles, which will bring relief, not disappointment, as some might believe.

Others Raven has met are Esperanza DeMaurier, Vanessa L'Florenza, Lelia Ambre, Alexandra Killeen/Ilia Goldovsky, Julietta Antoinette, and Lilith Eytinge. If I've forgotten someone, I apologize; I shall edit if necessary. Lelia and Raven were quite combative but parted on good terms. His second meeting with Esperanza was rockier than the first, but again they seemed to part amicably. It's the handkissing that does it, don't you think? *giggle*

Raven still hasn't had a guest at his home. Who will it be?

I am a bit uncertain how to go about stories with Raven since I've been away since at least September 2007! I posted at The Rookery, Raven's Paris apartments.

Raven's first guest is Lilith Eytinge, who is his dinner guest in a storyline that started long ago but, weirdly, precedes their reunion at Venetian Carnivale! How is that for retro twisty-turny?! After their dinner, we can perhaps leap forward in time~TPOwise at least.

Who else will Raven encounter? I should have listed the people he has met, but I had no idea that the illnesses of my body and my laptop would derail me. *sigh* As I recall the names of those he has spoken to, I shall try to post them, as I have tried to do for Easy Tanner.

Raven has been battling his reclusive ways, attempting to progress with his project at a more-rapid rate though he's shown signs of wishing to abandon the rather imposing task he outlined for his publisher. Will Mr. Corbett shift over to absorbing the atmosphere of Paris, particularly the Opera House, in hopes of developing material for one or more novels? Admittedly, he would rather escape in works of fiction rather than become bogged down in facts.

I hope that he will expand his circle of acquaintances, perhaps even inviting one or more to visit him at his home in Paris~the Rookery.

Raven is escorting Julietta Antoinette about town to lift their spirits. Will they continue their friendship?

Now, Raven will be meeting Evelyn Aldridge while engaged in a booksigning at Brentano's, one he promised as a followup to the impromptu one he was asked to do the day he met Julietta.

Will there be any other encounters for Raven? Or, will he continue his slide toward that "vacation" from TPO?

Amazingly, Raven and Evelyn are on a date! *gasp* Both seem surprised by this fact, but they do seem to be getting along well at Fouquet's Restaurant on Champs Elysees. She even came to his rescue by ordering. Although neither of them seems to care for French cuisine, they are making a brave effort. *giggle* Is there a dinner for Evelyn and Raven at The Rookery sometime in the future? Only time will tell! (I LOVE that song by Nelson!)

Raven also has encountered Arielle Montgomery on the Catwalk.

My guy still is far from busy. Perhaps I'll try some open posts for him to see if anyone is interested. Perhaps he can go back to Brentano's, whether to browse or sign books. The library also might be a place for him to busy himself.

Raven hasn't been a whole lot busier, but he is meeting Evelyn at the Christmas gala. Also, he is exploring near the Lake Underground with Arielle.

By the way: Evelyn is an older woman~at least six or seven years older. I thought that was sort of cute that age never entered their minds. (I admit that I hadn't thought about it till reading an Evelyn post this evening.

He and Evea parted ways at the church, and I'm wondering when and where they will meet again. It's not likely to be at the gala since Evea is with my Golden Hunt.

My, my... Raven does lead such an exciting life, doesn't he? *giggle*

I apologize for withdrawing Raven Corbett, as I have been enjoying his meetings with Evelyn. I would like this couple to continue their tentative courtship when Raven returns.

However, Raven has been involved in so few storylines during his time here, so I thought perhaps I'd bring in a bad boy~a very bad boy perhaps: Dorian Grayson. If he doesn't work out, Raven will return!
